After reading some reviews, I was worried. 2 night stay with the family. Received a warm welcome and had a great stay. We forgot tack for banners & balloons and were kindly provided some. Maintenance guy was on hand topping up/ adding cleaner to the hot tubs on second day. Toaster did cause the fuse to trip in one lodge but we got that replaced. Felt secluded but not very far from town or the beach. No wifi but the hotspot to the phone worked a treat. More amenities such as towels, toiletries tea/coffee would warrant the “luxury” element but over all no complaints from us.

Myself and boyfriend visit alottt of hot tub lodges all over Scotland many times a year so we know exactly what and what not to expect. Ultimately, we’re not one for leaving reviews but this one absolutely could not be left without something being mentioned.

Let’s break it down..

As soon as we got there everything seemed alright, the young guy gave us the keys, let us into the cabin and showed us the tub. At first quick glance all seemed fine, beside the fact the lodge looks right onto a main road and anyone driving past that road can clearly see you in the lodge/hot tub (this wasn’t made clear anywhere on website). Then when we had our ‘privacy’ we seen everything for itself.

Now let’s dive in, in no order!..

Pros: •One staff member warns you not to drink drive (we’re old enough and wise enough to know better anyway) to the shop down the road, so, he offers himself to go for you to get anything you need. We obviously didn’t need this, but it was nice for him to look out for people in that sense.

..

Cons: •COLD ‘hot tub’.. literally! It was cold. Never ever seemed to heat up! •Dirty grime around rim of tub. •Empty corona packet outside balcony. •Corona bottle caps IN the hot tub. •Corona bottle caps under microwave. •Pubic hairs all underneath toilet seat. •Joint doubts left all over balcony. •MASSIVE amounts of dust above wardrobe in bedroom. •Dust on cooker hood (could literally write your name in the dust) •Glasses/crockery not clean.. legit absolutely BOGGING! •Cobwebs all around ceiling dangling above lights etc. •Previous residents rubbish at sides of hot tub. •3/4 hobs on cooker work. •The cabin itself at first seems warm but once you’re settled. The heat DRASTICALLY drops. We were actually freezing, wrapping ourselves up in jumpers, woolies, duvets etc even during the day to keep warm! •Dog hairs all over living area.. I’m allergic to dogs so that was bloody fantastic! •Sofa was broke but it was disguised to try make it look not broke.

So, the hot tub was not cleaned for the day of our arrival. It was so evident it was still dirty the night we arrived, went to go in it and we realised it was bogging. STRAIGHT BACK OUT! They started to empty and clean the following day after arrival from 10am till 3:30 pm. Absolutely ZERO privacy. Not to mention you can literally see the people on both sides in their tubs.

One worker of the site allowed his dog to poo everywhere and didn’t pick it up. Not to mention 2/3 staff members over stepping the mark fratanazing with guests. The ‘staff’ are in our ‘neighbours’ hot tub, bubble bath added - was almost like a teenage foam party!! Drinking, smoking, calling d**rs (yes we seen and heard the full thing), overly friendly - take a guess of the rest we witnessed. Absolutely disgusting!!!! No professionalism!!

Overall:- We’re a young couple and understand that everyone goes away to have a good time, as we do too. But. The staff took this way TOO far, along with the cleanliness. We would absolutely NEVER ever stay here again. We even LEFT one night early and lost out on our money to go home as we became absolutely revolted with the behaviour happening in the lodge next to us with the staff included. Take that into account with how dirty the place was. NEVER AGAIN!!!! If I could give this a minus I wouldn’t hesitate!!

(I also have pictures saved of the ‘cleanliness’ that I intended to attach...

This is listed as brand new for 2022 and classed as ‘luxury’, you cannot classify yourself as ‘luxury’ just because you provide a hot tub. Defiantly cannot classify yourself as a ‘park’ when your situated near a housing estate.

You are situated right next to a very busy 60mph road which has cars and wagons, mainly wagons speeding down it all hours of the day and night due to being close to the airport. The planes are flying over day and night which makes it very hard to sleep and impossible to relax. Speaking of hard to sleep, the mattress is very cheap, springy and highly uncomfortable.

There is absolutely no privacy here, you can see straight into other peoples lodges and are in full view of the busy road when outside using the hot tub which puts you off being outside. There is also no outside furniture. Privacy could have easily been build in, hedge along the road side and appropriate boarding around the hot tub and/or even a pergola style finish.

They provide bed linen but no towels so you need to bring your own. There are no little extras or final finishes which you expect when staying somewhere classed as ‘luxury’ such as cushions on the sofa, lamps, no bedside tables to put things, nowhere to store a suitcase, no soaps or little shampoos, no scissors, etc. no information book or leaflets about the local area and things to do/places to eat and not much internet signal to check online. Just the park rules and how to use the hot tub.

They ask you to leave it as you found it, but provide nothing to clean with.

The drainage is also very poor, it takes an age for the sink and shower to clear while using. The toilet does not flush properly if at all. Water also does not get very hot for a shower or washing up. Speaking of watching up, the washing up sponges were covered in other peoples hairs.

No bins outside to put rubbish or dog poo in.

Finishings in the lodge are very basic, unless you are 6 foot tall you will struggle to open the fridge as it is not attached to the cupboard door. Handles were hanging off the cutlery draw, flooring is cheap and has cuts and is damaged. Headboard on the bed is not fixed to the wall correctly. TV is too small from my perspective and in a very inconvenient position, have to sit sideways on the sofa to be able to watch it. Not very good signal on TV so very limited channels. Sofa very uncomfortable to sit on, can feel the wood in it.

Only plus points; dog friendly and clean on arrival.

Would not recommend at all, total waste of money. We traveled 4 hours to get here, were booked in to stay all weekend and left...

We got upgraded for free which was amazing, However, Please note you have to take absolutely everything with you. Me and my husband travelled 6 hours from East Midlands and unfortunately we was slightly disappointed. We like to do a lot of lodge holidays around the UK and have to say this was one of the worse equipped lodges we stayed at considering it is a 'luxuary' lodge. There was minimal cleaning products just fairy liquid and wipes, no dust pan and brush, no towels are provided, bedding smelt very bad, the kitchen equipment was ridiculous, there is no basic cooking equipment or utensils, Dishwasher that didn't work, no bins in the bathroom, no garden furniture to relax outside, cigarette smell in the lodge, basic amiities was not provided for. The furniture was awful, the sofas were very uncomfortable, no coffee table provided in a big empty space, dinning table kept moving whilst trying to have dinner, beds were squeaking a lot. There was no guest information or booklet to state where the bins go after your stay. Lastly there was absolutely no WiFi and internet is very very slow! After travelling for 6 hours we had to find a nearby supermarket to buy items (bedding, cleaning products, hairdryer, towels, utensils, dust ban and brush) that should have been provided for without default . However, the hot tub was nice to use but for the price of the lodge I am...
