Beau Rivage is a private house in a lovely setting. The bedroom is large and comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. Breakfast is as advertised and is fine.|We were met by the owner’s mother and shown our accommodation. It appeared that the owners were on holiday. The bedroom is upstairs, above the open plan home - future guests should be aware that there is no lock on the bedroom door.|We went out for dinner, looking forward to a shower on our return. Unfortunately there was no hot water and as we only had a contact number for the owner, I messaged to report this. It was too late to walk over to the mother’s house (all the lights were off there anyway). |What concerned us most was that a large dog had been left downstairs, presumably to guard the house, from us? I wanted to get something from the car but the dog barked and growled and as the stairs are open tread and the dog was plenty big enough to leap the gate across the gap, I decided to leave it. I feel that we should have been told that the dog was there, and although we were told that someone would be in the house overnight, we did not know who, or indeed see anyone. It was an uncomfortable setting in which to stay; had the owners been in residence, it might have been a different experience. |Thankfully there was hot water the following morning, although I was surprised not to have received a reply to...
Read moreThis is the most luxurious B&B we have stayed in - and we've stayed in a lot. It is contained upstairs within the family home. The house is set in well kept gardens and looks out over the Moray Firth. The views from our bedroom window were fabulous. Woke up and drew the curtains back to see deer grazing on the lawn. Nadia and Henry were first rate hosts, very welcoming and friendly. The room itself is large with a dressing area containing the tea/coffee making facilities and a small fridge with bottled water inside. There is room for a table and chairs, there is a large modern TV, basically everything you could hope for. The bathroom is huge with an excellent shower, soft and fluffy towels and toiletries. The breakfast is continental but substantial with croissants, toast, fresh fruit, cereals, snack bars, fresh juice, tea and coffee - all of a good quality. I'm sure that they could charge a lot more for this place but have obviously chosen to ensure it is fully booked all of the time by keeping the price so low. Thanks for our...
Read moreSet on a hillside and had stunning views over the Moray Firth to both sides of the accommodation. Continental breakfast inclusive, substantial, and very tasty, served in a lounge area outside the bedroom. B&B accommodation took up the whole of the upstairs floor, so lots of space with a dressing area and large bathroom with wonderful shower!! Bedroom spacious with a sitting area and coffee table for our use. Owners friendly and gave helpful advice as to where to visit. Lots of shops in the centre of Inverness closed down, but plenty of tourist style shops with some quite overpriced gifts. Took a drive out to Ullapool which was worth visiting but an hour’s drive. Weather variable – beautiful scenery when dry, but more difficult to find things...
