We stayed at Beudy Hen for a week and it felt like a second home. On arrival we found some cake and milk already left for us with some treats as well (Maltesers and Wine) and once we were in Heulwen came over to welcome us and ask if we needed anything. She very kindly stored some of our freezer items for us as we had been a little ambitious with our shopping for the week.
The cottage was clean and tidy, everything has been kept well. However, it is not a cottage where everything feels so expensive you daren't touch it. It feels like a home, you are instantly comfortable.
Heulwen and Emyr are lovely people, they were always polite and stopped for a chat but also respected people's privacy. They even recommended some great places to go for meals and days out.
It's a working sheep farm so you do get some noise but its barely anything and the views and setting are so stunning and peaceful you won't care. They have a lovely working dog who we spotted a few times walking around, very well behaved and didn't bother us at all, even when we were eating fish and chips outside the cottage.
We would highly recommend this to anyone as a place to stay, it is a beautiful place with a lovely homely feeling and you have access to so much from here, it's ideal. You will need a car, and some good walking boots as its worth a walk around the area to take in the stunning surroundings. Harlech is a short drive away, with access to a gorgeous beach and the picturesque Harlech Castle. Slightly further afield but both accessible within 20 minutes via car, in one direction is Porthmadog for fantastic railway trips, and in the other direction is Barmouth for fish and chips.
If you want a cosy, comfortable and peaceful place to stay with amazing views, great walks and good food this is definitely somewhere...
Read moreThis is the most amazing place. The peace and quiet is so wonderful. The hosts could not be more welcoming, Heulwen had baked a cake, put a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge. The were jaffa cake nibbles left for us too. All the beds were really comfortable and Heulwen had really thought of everything when stocking the cottage. There was a hairdryer in each bedroom and the kitchen had so much equipment. We had a view of the sea and the fields from our garden but if you walked down the drive slightly you could see the mountains. As our garden wasn't enclosed and we had taken our 2 dogs Emyr kindly bought gates from the farm to pen them in which was fantastic. The week we spent there passed in the blink of an eye, it is an incredibly special place and I hope we can return again soon. We...
