I can see why this place is rated so highly as the house is lovely. Beautifully restored and very comfortable. I had read that the owner could be difficult so we tip toed around him and everything started very well.|I decided to have a shower before heading out to dinner and it was then that I discovered that the bathroom light was flashing on and off - not flickering as they can when they are about to fail. We felt we had no choice but to mention this and it became obvious immediately that Graham was not happy to have a complaint. He reluctantly agreed to have a look.|When we returned from dinner we realised that there was a leak in the roof and water was dripping from the bathroom ceiling. We put a towel down and left it for the night.|The following morning we enjoyed a superb breakfast and the delightful company of some fellow guests. Then the owner arrived to deliver a diatribe. It started with his view on Expedia telling us that guests who booked directly would pay up to ÂŁ80 less and that Expedia people would have the worst rooms. He then told us how he has the last word when guests leave a poor review and it felt like a thinly veiled threat. Graham then showed me a photo on his phone of the bathroom light working perfectly. I had anticipated that and showed him a video of the light strobing. Keeping in his good books was a lost cause so I told him about the leak. He said it must be new but the ceiling was in fact badly stained and the plaster damaged so they had had that leak for some time. |We left and I thought I would put the whole unfortunate experience behind us and not post a review . However I usually post after each stay because it is the reviews of others that I rely upon. I am not prepared to be bullied so Graham do your worstâŠ.for anyone else take a look at the many balanced reviews I have posted over the years. We are absolutely not...
Read moreWow, speechless! I booked this thinking it was a hotel but it turns out itâs a B&B yet it is larger and more luxurious than most hotels. Absolutely stunning and enormous stately mansion hidden away in the woods with beautiful grounds. The rooms and all internal areas are immaculately clean and feel like they have just been renovated. The exterior might be old and grand but the interior is modern, luxurious and still retains character. The facilities on site are simply incredible (again bearing in mind this is a B&B). It has a bloody billiards room with a full size snooker table! Honestly, there are no words to describe this place. To call it a B&B is the understatement of the century. This is basically a mansion that youâd want to live in if you won the lottery! The hosts are incredible too. Super accommodating and friendly yet give you complete privacy. This is the kind of property that really needs a sixth star for rating purposes! They have peacocks roaming the grounds for god sake! Seriously, it almost sounds ridiculous but all true. Blown away by Blervie House to put it lightly. ...
Read moreJust wanted to thank Graham, Sheena and Jayne who looked after us at Breakfast for a most enjoyable stay at Blervie. The house is amazing and finished to a very high standard for which Graham and Sheena should be proud of. We had a wonderful time the bedrooms are outstanding and Deluxe is the right rating. Every part of the house has a different vibe and has there own individual style orfold and new. The views over the lawn and Forrest add to the surround. You are led in by 1000 meter drive to be confronted by this amazing house, not to mention 2 beautiful dogs. There seems to be no expense spared to make this house what it is today and has been brought back to life by Grahams hard work and vision. He was great to chat with and his stories of the house and his life are worth listening to which i did during breakfast during our stay. The grading should be more than a 5 as i have never stopped in such grand B&B before in all my 40 years of traveling around the UK. If i am ever in or around the Moray Firth again Graham will be the first person i call. This is a must see house and i am sure you will...
