This was our first stay in Honeysuckle Cottage, having previously stayed in Rose Cottage in 2020. This accommodation really does warrant its 5 star rating. The cottage is fitted out to an exceptional standard but maintains a very homely feel. The kitchen is a dream to work in with both an Aga and an induction hob and the layout means that you connect with those in the living area. The large American fridge/freezer was also amazing. We loved settling down in the evening in front of the fire after a lovely session in the hot tub, star gazing. The conservatory area is well designed for pre and post tub changing and is very well kitted out with child toys and family games. The bedrooms are lovely, beds very comfortable and all have access to excellent en suite facilities, with under-floor heating. Two of the bedrooms, 1 with bunk-beds and twin beds and the other a large double, share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a bath tub and shower cubicle. It is a very quiet area and the views from the cottage are terrific. A nice walk down the hill takes you past the ducks and sheep, and the village shop can be reached in 10-15 minutes. The area has loads of nature trails to offer and we have hardly scratched the surface. The welcome home baked loaf, scones and jams went down very well and we took advantage of a lovely casserole to ease us in on the first night. Chris and Richard are lovely friendly hosts and make you feel very welcome.

I had a lovely stay in Bluebell croft with 9 friends, occupying both Honeysuckle croft and Rose Cottage. Trudy and Nathan were very friendly and welcomed us with lovely freshly baked scones, bread and jam as well as coffee and wine. The croft was spacious and comfortable, relaxing in the hot-tub was fun and as the weather was wonderful we could lie and look at the stars in the evening. It worked perfectly for us as the big table in Honeysuckle House seated 10 comfortably and cooking for 10 was fine with 2 kitchens including an Aga. The croft hens and ducks produce fresh eggs that made lovely scrambled egg. The views of the surrounding hills were beautiful. There was plenty to occupy us around Strontian, hill-walking and the nature reserve, and on the peninsula, so we are definitely planning to go back.

Beautiful big house! Huge hottub with a view of the local hill scenary by day and the stars at night. 2 houses in 1, joined by a games room. Perfect for meeting up with old friends. We are already booking again next year. Modern kitchen and appliances, every room was en suite and our room had a walk in shower. A trek up the hill but plenty parking by car. My only complaint was there being 1 safari jigsaw piece missing, which frustrated an otherwise great weekend. Local walks nearby and a short drive to the beach. We wanted to do watersports but the weather was just too bad.
