Brecon View Eco Retreat — Hotel in Great Britain

A very lovely cabin. Was pleasantly surprised to see how lovely the property is. From the moment we pulled up outside, I could see this was going to be the best experience. It was very well maintained to a very high standard. You can see a lot of hard work has been put into this project. The hot tub was on constantly and decorated with lights. The garden was lovely with a large four seating area with a table. There was a large bow area and even included the coals and fire lighters. The shower rooms were amazing and the showers were really modern. I was pleasantly toy surprised with slippers and dressing gowns for four of us. The towels were soft and of high quality. Both bedrooms had luxurious long sized beds and decorated and finished to the highest of standards. The kitchen was better a pleasure to work in. It had everything and more. The Lounge area comfy sofa and two very cool chairs. The walls were of the different areas of Wales. There was a bird book supplied with binoculars to do some bird watching, which one of my sons did. The property was very peaceful and very private. It was just what we needed to be able to re-charge our batteries. My four children booked it for my husbands big birthday. He was so relaxed. We have already started searching the dates to come back for another occasion, perhaps New Years Eve. It was booked literally a few days before we arrived. We have just spent a week at Brecon View Eco Village - Mint Lodge, a staycation we booked for just 2 of us and our dog.

Firstly communication before arrival was great, anyone we spoke to or messaged was so friendly and helpful. Prior to arrival we was sent a welcome pack digitally which gave us any information we may need before and during our stay including how to use appliances, and recommendations on restaurants and day trips, it was great information and helped us plan our stay better - such a well thought out idea.

Facilities are all brand new and every detail has been considered including the local hand/shower gel/shampoo (smells amazing!), big bed with cloud like pillows, large fluffy towels and big bath robes. The private sauna and hot tub was a great addition (which we have managed to use daily as a wind down from our walks which has been amazing!).

There were a few teething issues with the lodge being new - but anything was rectified same or next day without any fuss - honestly I cannot fault the service.

We both had a deep tissue massage which we highly recommend!

The location was calm and tranquil right next to a stream which we could hear from the sitting areas. It has been a great base for us to have the most amazing day trips in South Wales including visits to the black mountains, waterfalls and beaches (three cliffs is a must see but wear trainers as the hike down was slippy!). Our family of four have just returned from a long weekend at Brecon Eco Village and we had a fantastic time. The lodges are beautiful and very well equipped. Everything you need has been thought of and is lovely quality, from the soft robes to the organic local products in the bathrooms and kitchen. It is clear that the owners are deeply passionate about providing a great experience and this shines through from the comfortable beds through to how it is furnished and appointed. The eco design is great to live in and we loved the attention to detail throughout and clever little touches everywhere. Our lodge was enjoyable to be in and felt spacious, even with two young children running around!

The hot tub was a big success with us, and our two children and we especially enjoyed it at night, looking up into a breath-taking sky for some star gazing – there is so little light pollution in the area that the sky was crystal clear.

The area has lots to explore, from lovely walks, parks, and great places to go to eat. We particularly liked the Butchers Arms for lunch/dinner and Blas for breakfast. We also had breakfast at the golf club which was great value and a big hit with our kids. The golf club is also a lovely place to pop for a drink with its beautiful views and easy walking distance to the lodge!
