Wow! My wife booked a family break at Brokerswood for late July 2021, of which unfortunately I was only able to get down for a couple of days. Already in a bit of a bad mood because the company I work for cancelled my time off, perusing online reviews had led me to pretty low expectations if I am honest. Well what can I say... When the wife told me over the phone how nice the park and accommodation were I suspected a bit of exaggeration but it really is nothing short of exceptional! The modern, well maintained and immaculately presented lodge we stayed in provided all the quality comforts of home and more. No noise, no obnoxious smells or other irritations you might associate with a traditional caravan park - you really could live in this place! A great base to explore the area from with some really interesting local landmarks within easy access with good main road links. I will admit I was a little confused by the multiple websites showing different representation of Brokerswood Country Park - as I understand, the miniature railways and kiddies playgrounds are now removed and theres no longer access to the general public. Wildlife is starting to reclaim the woods and this provides a really unique opportunity to really get away and explore nature. It's pretty easy to get lost in those woods - there could still be play areas that I just couldn't find 🤣 I saw no evidence to back up the claims made in some critical reviews posted online, and suspect them to be the work of local NIMBY sort. A quick Google search of the difficulties the owners have had in creating this wonderful holiday facility will demonstrate the lengths the locals went to to prevent it. I highly recommend staying here, really nice park and I really respect the forward thinking of the owners and their commitment to preserving brokerswood for generations to come.

Brokerswood is a quiet countryside lodge park. It is in a great location for exploring the area, with Longleat, Bath, Laycock just a short drive which was why we chose it. The staff were friendly and helpful, you can get a discount for Longleat by booking through their office. The problem is that the lodges are privately owned and sub let by the site. You are therefore dependent on the owners care and attention to detail, so my review is only for 19 maple tree. At first we were very pleased, lots of room, big deck, kitchen clean. However after the first night realised the beds were awful, I have skipped better mattresses, it actually went boing when you moved. On complaining staff agreed, but they have to contact owner, so not before our weekend was over! They provided two single winter duvets as a matress topper not a whole lot better. Furniture and carpets were grubby, and if you have young children no safety catches on lid of the hot tub, do four year old immediately lifted it up! Such a shame that this could have been a great review from a satisfied customer. I feel the site need to take responsibility for inspecting units, as a bad review reflects badly on their reputation and another lodge on the site my have given us a totally different experience.

I stayed here for a long weekend. Friday to Monday. I stayed with my partner, 4 children and a dog. There was an initial mix up with the booking, involving our dog staying. This is feel was partially down to the booking system through Hoseasons. This was however, quickly sorted out after a discussion with the manager, Dean, who I found to be helpful and polite. So a massive tick for customer service. The site is clean and very well maintained. Lovely for walks in the woods with the dog. It is a relaxing break. Not loads to do on site for the kids (teenagers) but there is very good WiFi! Our Lodge had a jacuzzi which was lovely to relax in. There is a very small on site shop but it is minimal. However, there are lots of large supermarkets within 5 miles and several lodges had booked shopping deliveries so you don't have to leave site if you don't want to. There are also several pubs, restaurants and fast food places within 10 minutes drive of the site. I'd recommend this place and would stay again.

Booked for a christmas stay with family. Good and bad points.|Do not bother booking a signature with lake view if you care about the lake view. It is absolutely non existent if you are unfortunate enough to be placed in the completely missnamed lakeview 1. Seriously dissapointed.||Booked signature hot tub 4 described as "providing a stunning lake view" and the only reason we paid extra and booked this particular grade. My son especially was so excited and looking forward to sitting in the hot tub watching the lake as they are his calming space. We was given lakeview 1, with a name like that and the description given what could possibly be wrong with expecting a lake view? Arrived for the 4pm check in and place was already pretty dark as it is in a secluded area and no lights around the park. Was not given a map on check in so had to try and memorise the instructions and find our way in the dark. Pulled up to the lodge and thought surely we was at the wrong place as no lake to be seen anywere. Only parking areas and trees from what i could make out in the dark. Thought maybe in the daylight this lake would appear and after a 6 hour journey just wanted to get the kids in and fed. |The next morning looked out on decking and saw the same parking spots and trees but with lodges in front of that. After going for a walk saw that these lodges were directly on the lake, as i had been sold, yet we could not see so much as a puddle never mind a lake from ours. My son was so dissapointed as this was all he had looked forward to for so long. It was now xmas eve though so just had to make the best of it but felt so robbed. ||Lodge was clean but lacking in basics. Nothing christmassy at all, no handsoap, no mat for bathrooms or hot tub so constant wet and slippy floors, one extremely nasty cheap toilet roll per bathroom. One dishwasher tablet, no spatula for using frying pan, bare minimum pans and kitchen equipment/crockery etc. No oven glove or anything to take hot trays out the oven or pans off the stove (the pan handles got scorching hot no matter how you positioned them on the stove top so my tea towel from home offered no protection and i repeatedly burnt myself trying to cook). One side of the oven extremely slow, took 4 hours to roast potatoes.|| No temperature control on hot tub so can not set it to the temperature that suits you.|| No lights outside and with wet slippy decking steps that you can not see at all in the dark it could cause a nasty fall, even just some very dim lights on the steps to show where each one is would be good.||Shower in the ensuite was a nightmare as it fell off its holder as soon as you turned it on. It was too powerful for the holder to stay in position, even on a low setting, so would either knock the holder back and therefore absolutely shower the whole bathroom as it sprayed over the top of the screen or it would just fall out the holder.||Second bedroom was extremely small with hardly any room to move or walk between the beds. Think more a tiny caravan bedroom not a signature holiday home/lodge bedroom at all. ||Lodge was clean on arrival, no dirt on anything wich is always nice as often find things like glasses and cutlery are overlooked and dirty. ||Hot tub was checked regularly i am assuming for safe levels etc as would see staff first thing in a morning checking them all.||Park is in a lovely quiet area and nice and secluded if you want some peace and quiet. ||We had a physical key and did nit have to mess around with the digital ones, site called me the day before our holiday to inform me of this and to let me know to collect from reception. Told me if i was arriving after reception hours they would leave key in cabin and turn the lights and heating on for me wich i thought was nice. ||Small childrens play area, small reception shop selling various essentials and bits and pieces, activities can be booked through a 3rd party if wanted to do them. ||Supermarkets about 10 mins away and they are listed with postcodes in your...

The location is great, very quiet and easy to find. We used it as a base while visiting Longleat and friends near Salisbury. Access to the site is very easy from any direction with great links to the main roads. Prior to our arrival we received instructions on how to use the app to unlock the lodge door with our phones, we were dubious about it but it was actually very simple to use and worked perfectly. The lodge was the perfect size for a family of 4, it was very clean and well appointed with plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for our clothes. Bathrooms (one with bath, one with shower) were good size and again, very clean. The lodge had parking for 2 cars and steps up to the decking area, the steps had grip strips to reduce the risk of slips when wet. The temperature outside dropped to 2 degrees overnight but the heating worked very well and we were never cold. The hot tub was a welcome addition, a 10:30pm curfew was in place for using the hot tubs but this was not strictly enforced. Once in the double glazed lodge we couldn't hear any noise from the neighbouring lodges. Each hot tub has a lid that is to be kept closed unless the hot tub is in use so we had no concerns regarding the safety of our 2yr old daughter. The lid to the hot tub provided privacy from the lodge next door but we did feel a little exposed to some of the other lodges and cars and dog walkers passing by. A 'hot tub guy' visited each day to check the water quality, he didn't knock the door and was only at the lodge for 5 minutes so it wasn't intrusive. There is a small shop and reception area on-site but we didn't use them. The Full Moon pub is just down the road so we went there for dinner on the night we arrived rather than trying to cook while unpacking. A friendly pub with excellent food and drink. It would be a nice walk or cycle ride in the summer but we drove as the weather wasn't great. The site has axe-throwing, archery and other pursuits but none of them seemed to be in use at the time of our visit. All-in-all we had a great weekend, the site is perfect as a base to explore the local area or for a relaxing...
