We had a mixed experience but I am not sure if glamping is just not for us. ||Our ferry was delayed and we arrived in the dark, we got completely lost trying to find he Goji as there weren't many signs, however the owner was very lovely and stayed on the phone with us until we found it. The parking is quite far away from the Goji itself, even though there is a road that goes a lot closer. Be prepared to walk a while from the car but they do provide wheelbarrows to help you with your luggage. ||The concept of it all was very cool and the outdoor kitchen, toilet and showering facilities were all nice and we liked them. We did have a small issue when we arrived as not many of the lights were working so we had to try and settle in using just our torches, which was difficult but we managed. We messaged the owner in the morning about the lights and she came straight away to see what had happened and found replacements to put up. ||The beds in the Goji were comfy and the covers were nice and warm. ||We had a lot of trouble using a lot of the facilities such as the pizza oven and log burners/fire pits as everything was very damp and we couldn't get them going enough. ||We were booked in for 3 nights but only stayed in the Goji on our first night, as on the second we discovered a large amount of hornets which must have a nest nearby and were attracted to the lights, they were also able to get into our tent as the door does not zip all the way around and we were constantly being mobbed which was quite scary, we also had over little visitors in the Goji such as mice but I thought they were quite cute, my friend was uncomfortable of the thought of trying to sleep with mice in the tent with us. The wind had also picked up causing the Goji to rock about quite a lot which was quite unsettling. It was the perfect storm really......hornets, mice and wind....so on the second night we sadly ended up sleeping in our car in the car park, then in the morning we decided to pack up and book into a hotel instead.||We messaged the owner to let her know, she gave us a call the next day to discuss it and was very kind and has given us a small refund. Which we thought was very nice as it is nature and not their fault. She said she is going to go and investigate into the hornets, but I am not sure if they can actually do anything about it without getting stung! ||All in all, sadly we wouldn't go back to stay in the Goji again, but we would maybe stay in one of the cabins instead which have a proper door. The owner was absolutely lovely and like I said the concept was great....but maybe glamping just isn't quite our thing after all hahaha. ||My best advice would be to make sure you arrive during the day when it is light, during a time it is not so windy or wet, and try your best to block the bottom of the Goji door so wildlife can't get...
Read moreI recently stayed at the treehouse for 2 nights. While the place itself looked nice and seemed clean at first glance, there were a few things that made the stay uncomfortable.
There were quite a lot of cobwebs throughout the treehouse, which meant plenty of spiders around — not ideal if you're not a fan of creepy crawlies. We also had a big issue with moths inside the treehouse. Both nights, we struggled to sleep because the moths were constantly fluttering around and hitting the inside window (which couldn’t be opened). If you have a fear of insects, I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
On a more positive note, the pizza oven was a nice touch, and we enjoyed making pizzas for dinner.
However, the door to the balcony was awkward to use and didn’t shut properly. There was also a noticeable hole at the bottom of it — likely how many of the insects were getting in.
The listing mentioned on-site activities like a tennis court, so we brought our own rackets. Unfortunately, the court looked completely abandoned, with overgrown grass making it unusable.
There’s no site map provided, so finding anything — like the on-site shop — was a challenge. In the end, we had to drive 10 minutes off-site to find one.
Another minor frustration was that the BBQ required you to pay for coal, which I found unusual. In other places I’ve stayed, coal has usually been provided complimentary.
As for the views, they were disappointing. The pictures online suggested field views from the balcony, but all we could see were trees and overgrown plants.
One final warning — the road leading to the treehouse is full of potholes, so take care if you're driving a low car. Also google states there is Wi-Fi available which is not true.
Overall, I don’t think I’d return for another stay. With a bit more care and attention to detail, this place could be much better — but in its current state, it didn’t meet my...
Read moreI had a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Venn for my partner's birthday. We were so impressed by the wood furnishings and overall finish of the treehouse. It felt so luxurious, cozy and we had everything we needed. We especially loved the 'Happy birthday' banner which was put up before our arrival - a nice personal touch and very much appreciated. We loved using the treehouse facilities, such as the pizza oven and outdoor bath which we made good use of. The views were spectacular and we really enjoyed walking from the treehouse to the local town of Bromyard which took around 50 minutes, ending with a pint at the local pub. We took our dog too who was very comfortable in the cabin. Warm, cozy, and fabulous experience. Would love to visit again in the future if we get the chance. On the last evening, unfortunately the fuse switched which meant we had no power. However, the site owner was very apologetic the next morning and even gave us a bottle of Brook House Farm fizz by way of apology. We totally understand these things happen when running off solar and it didn’t hinder the...
