Really wished I could give this 5 stars but unfortunately the Coastal bar pub let this place down. First of all the resort its self; perfect location but FYI be aware there’s 2 ways to get to the resort, one of them is not suitable (the sat nav sent us that way) I would highly recommend going through bude centre & past the Sainsburys. If your sat nav doesn’t send you that way then turn around because the other road has HUGE pot holes. We booked the luxury caravan and can say it was definitely up to expectations. Very clean inside and towels & bedding provided. The only thing I would suggest to improve the caravan is the simple necessities e.g. hand wash, extra loo roll, salt & pepper. There was a dishwasher but no tablets to use it and the washing up liquid provided was a tiny bottle so didn’t last long. So glad we went with the luxury instead of the standard as it had a patio area which was perfect for the dogs and it meant we could have the door open on a warm day and not worry about the dogs running off, so definitely recommend spending that bit more if you’ve got a dog. We unfortunately got stuck in traffic on the arrival day so we was going to be late to check in, I called up and the reception was lovely about it and advised they would leave the key safe and emailed a map to show were to go. There’s a lovely costal path directly from the site (shows you on the map on their website) which is perfect for dog walking. Now the part that really disappointed us, the pub. When we got there on the Thursday after a 10 hour journey we didn’t want to go far for food so went to the pub on site, unfortunately 2 out of the 3 meals we wanted wasn’t available and was told that food delivery is on a Friday so Thursdays are a bad day to go. Secondly, we ordered the cheesy garlic bread which was on the STARTERS menu however it came with the main and apparently you have to tell the bar staff that you want it as a starter even though it’s not shown on the ‘side’s menu’ (doesn’t make sense to me). On the Thursday we decided to make a reservation for Saturday (for the football match). Mark (the manager) told us we wouldn’t need to reserve as it’s never busy but we insisted on reserving and so gave our name, phone number and caravan number. We booked for 5pm. When we arrived at 4:50, we was told that someone else was given our table. All the other tables were full. According to Mark a woman had come in saying she had a reservation and so they was given our table (clearly no one bothered to check the caravan number or phone number or name). There was no apology just excuses about being too busy to actually check the reservation and no attempt for a solution so we had no choice but to leave. Also would not recommend the pizza & chicken fajitas. Both very very dry.

Having recently stayed at another “Away Resorts” (Sandy Balls - yes really, look it up!) and being pretty impressed with it our expectations were high for Bude. I’m not sure how long they’ve owned this park but it’s not the same experience, that’s ok, give them time. Disappointed there’s no breakfast served anywhere and the cafe/restaurant is only open 5-9pm. I know many people will be cooking their own food but nice to have the option. (Incidentally, we’ve found the “Riverlife Cafe” in Bude very good for cooked breakfasts, highly recommended.) This time around we went for a cheaper option which provided us with a Willerby Rio Gold, which I’d say is about 28-30ft long, and 12ft wide. It’s much more of an old-skool mobile home with an apex roof and double glazing. I’d imagine the one we stayed in was about 10yrs old, but in good condition. Very clean inside, no complaints there. As per my photos, the kitchen comes well equipped with most bits you’ll need. The lounge area isn’t particularly comfy to be honest but it’s standard seating in one of these, we brought in some of the pillows from bedrooms to help with that. The shower in the main bathroom was surprisingly decent! Powerful enough and I’m a fair big fella but I didn’t feel too squished up in the shower cubical! It would benefit from a higher position for the shower head though, but was ok. We slept quite well considering the bed and mattress is very basic. I’m not sure who sited the van but they need to work on their levelling skills as the van was leaning backwards and to the left quite a bit! As I say the van was clean inside but I thought the outside could do with a wash. The lady on reception was very polite and helpful, giving us a site map etc Overall, for the money I’d say it’s worth it. I guess if you pay more you get a nicer van, but for our fleeting stay it was fine.

Just returning from a good week away! Bude isn’t far 2 mins in the car. Loads to see and do for kids and adults. The resort was okay. It was rosy for the most part. Here are my pros and cons. ***Pros*** It has an outdoor pool and splash park 🌊 Coastal bar and eatery was amazing. Food delicious (apart from kids burgers-too chargrilled!) 🍔 It has laundry facilities £4 for wash £2.50 for dryer 🧺 Some of the lodges were so high spec looking (we were in an older caravan which we rented privately- paid £980 for the week!) 🏠 Adventure park was really cool kids loved it! Lots of benches to sit & watch them play👌🏼 Staff were so friendly inc. the grass cutter☺️ Quiet park foe those looking for quieter break! 🤫 Almost every evening we went a 5-15 min drive and seen a different beach! If we didn’t have the kids we’d have done more cliff top walking. Views were spectacular! ⛰ Little pubs and shops in Bude looked really cool, we were limited as there with the kids but it was a bustling place with laid back surfer hippy types that made me smile 😃 Fanciest double decker lodge I’ve ever seen 🤩 I’m Bude they have a big inflatable park £7 per child and that’s for the whole day. It’s massive and kids loved it. Look it up on fb- body bounce it was called! Cute coffee van there too ☕️ ***Cons*** You only get 45 mins once per day in pool and heater was broke so it was freezing 🥶 Laundrette was needing a good clean. Smell actually made me noxious 🤢 We didn’t have a view. 😞 🌊 Would have been nice if more kids activities on. A singer and the pool. That was it 🎶 Scary narrow rode to get there 😨

After a 7.5-hour journey, we arrived to find that the caravan we had booked was not available and had already been given to someone else. The replacement caravan we were given was in a shocking state: carpets full of dog hair, dust and general dirt, and a bathroom that smelled of urine and was unhygienic with pubic hair present.||We immediately complained at reception but were told nothing could be done until the morning. When we returned the next day, the receptionist was extremely rude. A re-clean was scheduled for 10:30, but by 11:00 no one had arrived. When I followed up, a senior staff member (Caroline) called me a liar and said this “wasn’t the place for me.” The manager, Katy, eventually stepped in, apologised after seeing the photos I had taken, and sent cleaners back in.||However, the cleaning was still not up to standard. Dog hair and dust remained, and when I pointed out spilled coffee in the bedroom, the cleaner told me they “didn’t have time for that.” It wasn’t until the manager personally inspected the caravan later that another re-clean was arranged. By Monday evening, after being on site since Sunday, we still hadn’t unpacked due to the state of the accommodation. The accommodation continued to smell like urine. ||We were given food vouchers as compensation, but the restaurant experience was just as bad. The food was inedible — my children’s hunter’s chicken was dry, topped with a slice of plastic cheese, and my pulled pork nachos were stale and barely edible. Every table around us complained. That same evening, bingo (which was advertised for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays) was cancelled at the last minute with a handwritten sign saying staff were “too busy.” When questioned, the manager admitted they had the normal number of staff on but simply “couldn’t be bothered.”||The problems didn’t stop there:| • The washing machine in the caravan broke mid-cycle, leaving us waiting for maintenance, who eventually removed the door and left it unusable.| • My child’s personal pillow (worth £60) was mistakenly taken by staff and we had to track it down ourselves.| • We repeatedly asked for an extra outdoor chair so our family of five could sit together (we were only given a 4-seater). This finally arrived on Thursday — four days into our stay.||From start to finish, this holiday was a disaster. The accommodation was filthy, the staff rude and dismissive, and the facilities and food substandard. For the £1,400 we paid, I expected a clean caravan, decent service, and at least a basic level of hospitality. Instead, we were left stressed, uncomfortable, and disappointed.||We will never return to Bude, and I would strongly advise families to avoid...

We are currently spending 2 weeks here in Bude, first thoughts of the site were good, it’s quiet, clean and the caravan is to the higher spec (washing machine, dishwasher, decent comfy beds etc). ||Upon driving on the site we noticed there is little to no parking for the reception which in busier times could be awkward. Receiving the keys was easy and clear to know where we’re staying and what’s on the site. Once finding the caravan were staying in it was lovely and clean until I walked into the twin single room.. there was the horrid odour smell, just couldn’t put my finger on what the smell was. Entering the main bathroom there was still sand around the bottom of the sink which has clearly been missed. There was a little dog pack which was a nice addition if you take dogs with you. You can park outside the caravan which is good but don’t expect to much room, parking is tight but has a smart driveway. ||Later that day we walked to reception to ask a couple of questions..||• Are we allowed the use of Gazebos next to the caravan?|• Is there better internet speeds for a premium price?||Both the answers were no. There was no explanation to why we couldn’t have a gazebo up and the fact you only get 14mb download speed the internet is poor.. but it is free 🤷🏻‍♂️. I could barely even stream anything which I was told I could. ||3 days into the holiday we asked if we could have a hoover or a caper sweeper to help with the dog hair (Labrador that moults) but they again answered with no.. but this time they said they can loan us one but they want it back and we can’t keep it for the duration of the holiday. What’s that nonsense about?! ||Over the 3 days we have been exploring the local area, we eventually found the coastal path and followed it, it’s a nice enough walk until the end before the actual coast bit. There is a horrible step but on the step there is a large bit of slate which makes it very difficult to pass. Anyone with difficulties walking or with dogs will struggle there as it’s abit of a drop the other side. There is no way it’s a 15min walk, probably more half hour if you’re causally walking. ||With that all said we’re still enjoying ourselfs and making the most of the holiday to the best we can. ||The holiday is still ongoing as only 3 days into it but I will update this review with the good and...
