Points 1-7 were raised with the owners at the time, however , *although the owner came to “clean” the toilets and shower, he did not clean out the green mould or the disgusting unhealthy toilet brushes and pots. * the smell of the hot tub and quality of filter was dismissed. We were advised the tub was fine to use and if we pushed the ‘ button’ the error code would go. The welcome information in the property advises the hot tub would be checked daily between 10-11am. Other than the initial review above, no further checks were completed during our stay. We have extensive experience of maintaining hot tubs from both personal use and as a Senior Engineer . The hot tub was not acceptable to be used, let alone the offensive smell, it was neither of satisfactory working order or had hygienically cleansafe water. * showing Rosie some photos of the unhygienic washing machine and dryer after this was noted when we went to wash ‘ baby’ clothes, let us in dismay. Not only was she dismissiveof the concern, she advised they use this themselves daily. She advised she was running late and requested for us to raise with her partner if we required this to be cleaned. Looking around the property we were dismayed and cannot actually believe that this is the same property that you have outstanding reviews for. Subsequently, we have since found a more relatable one on Google Maps appendix ). The arriving time of 5pm is rather late , essentially a day off the holiday, however as the property is to be vacated by 10am, it is unfathomable why the property is not presented in an acceptable and hygienic manner. Having now raised multiple concerns with the cleanness of the property, with both owners dismissive and unwilling/ unable to rectify to an acceptable standard, it was felt both futile and uncomfortable to further communicate consideredunacceptable standards. Unfortunately we were unable to relocate and therefore decided to get on with our holiday using the cottage to only sleep in. We ate out every day, rather than our usual wish toenjoy preparing and cooking together. To evidence our findings and to provide reviews to prevent other families experiencing the standards please see photosprovided. It’s clear the advertising photos were taken some years ago asthey do not reflect it in its present condition. It is unclear if Skyes holidays visit properties before advertising and becoming the agents? We do however, note you have provision that the owners must leave in a clean and maintained order. In essence this holiday as far as accommodation is concerned was a disaster , The standards were not reflected in the price, and we felt totally uncomfortable, disappointed and not listen to, despite trying to communicate and show the poor standards. There was failure to meet minimum hygiene and maintenance standards. At present we would only score this cottage less than a 3 for fixtures and fittings. Its only positive is the location.

Utterly stunning cottage. It's spacious, comfortable, warm and somewhere you will not want to leave. We spent 8 days there with our dog. Loved every minute of it. Dave and his lovely wife will do anything they can to make your stay a happy one. Beds are really comfy, the decor is stylish and pretty much everything you can think of is there for you. The hot tub is glorious, we used it on chilly cold nights; bring a wooly hat! There are towels provided. The only tiny thing I found was there were not really any oven proof dishes but I had brought one with a stew in it for our first night. Dont hesitate in booking Caecrwn, it's perfect. EV charging available which was handy. Brecon itself has lots of super places to eat and drink. We recommend The Thai restaurant and Brecon Tap. There is also a large Wetherspoons. We will go back. The owners went above and beyond especially in the snow to make sure we were safe. Cannot wait to return. 😁

Upon review I think giving this property a 4 star is generous however a 3 star would be considered a little harsh. As a staycation couple I would say that in general we were relatively underwhelmed by the property and the experience.

We found that whilst the surrounding area was beautiful and the space that you had access to was a bonus, the price was not relative to the experience itself.

Upon a 5pm check in (which is quite late) the cottage didn’t feel ready, it had supposedly been cleaned before a late arrival however, the hot tub was green and smelled of stagnant water. There was a strong sour smell coming from the kitchen which we soon discovered to be a bowl of what could only be described as human vomit which was located in a bowl in the kitchen cupboard.

I would advise, bringing your own condiments as there was no salt, pepper, sugar ect… it is also worth bringing kitchen roll and toilet paper as minimal quantities of this are provided to guests with no replacements.

For the overall price, we felt that you pay a lot for a quite limited, underwhelming and poorly equipped property. That being said, if you don’t mind packing the car as if you’re going camping, this...
