We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Caer Rhun Hall from 9th to 12th July, and I can wholeheartedly say it was one of the most memorable getaways we’ve ever had. This trip was planned to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the team at Caer Rhun went above and beyond to make every moment truly special.
From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine care. Lisa at check-in was an absolute delight—friendly, kind, and instantly made us feel right at home.
The highlight for us was the incredible room setup arranged by Sam, who made sure everything was just perfect for the birthday surprise. The room was beautifully decorated with balloons, flowers, cake, and thoughtful touches that made the occasion feel extra magical. You could tell it was prepared with love and attention to detail.
We’d also like to give a big thank you to Aled Humphreys, the General Manager, who was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great tips on tourist spots to explore nearby, which made our trip even more exciting and fulfilling.
The restaurant and bar team—Nick, Chris, and James—were top-notch. They were not only efficient and attentive, but also genuinely lovely to chat with. Every meal felt like a treat, and the service was exceptional throughout.
A big shoutout as well to Abby from housekeeping, who made sure our room stayed spotless and cozy. She was kind, discreet, and always had a warm smile whenever we crossed paths.
Caer Rhun Hall itself is a gorgeous property—full of charm, character, and stunning views of the Snowdonia countryside. The mix of elegance and comfort is just right, and it truly felt like we were staying somewhere out of a romantic movie.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious, and personal escape—whether it’s for a special occasion or just a quiet retreat—Caer Rhun Hall is the place to be. We’re leaving with beautiful memories, heartfelt gratitude, and a strong desire to return again soon.
Thank you to the entire team for making our celebration so...
Read moreFirst things first, it's a fabulous listed building located in a very tranquil location close to Conwy. Although it's a listed building, the rooms are modern with many facilities and features beautiful grounds which makes it an ideal place for a stay-in holiday.
We stayed 2 nights here and the room we were initially offered was not what we asked for (outside the main building, sort of a stable/annexe type) but we were moved into the main building after a bit of a protest. Although the duty manager mentioned that it's stated in the booking, we were unable to find any details of an annexe in the booking. The standard room was comparatively small but I guess it's down to the old building design. As I said before the rooms had good facilities but 1 thing we missed was a fan (understand difficulties with A/C'ing listed buildings). The curtains were too thick and blocked any air coming through the open windows, and it rained on our second night with strong wind, meaning open windows was a big no no!
The continental breakfast was included in the rates and had a spread which was both sufficient and pleasing. The dinner we had on the first night was well worth the money and they also had gluten and dairy free options for my wife which was an added bonus. The staff were very helpful and professional making sure the guests enjoy the stay. The hotel is pet friendly too which is really good.
Apart from the initial issues with the room, the stay was pleasant and we enjoyed it. Would recommend to anyone visiting that...
Read moreMy fiancé and I stayed here for a night last week from Tuesday to Wednesday. It was an absolutely amazing stay. The hotel itself is beautiful. Cosy, friendly, clean, really pretty, surprisingly modern. The breakfast was tasty. But without a doubt the best thing about our stay was the staff at this place. They went above and beyond. They were amazingly accommodating. We'd booked our stay less than a week before and while booking I'd forgot to mention that my mobility was limited. Although they do have accessible rooms in an annex on the grounds, I wanted the experience of staying in the hotel itself. so I called them the day before we were meant to be staying to ask if it was possible to get the closest available type of room we had booked to the reception and explained why. I was told by the lovely lady on the phone that she would see what she could do and when we actually went to check in to the hotel the next day we were told they had a room for us directly at the top of the stairs. And to our surprise and delight we realised they had upgraded our room free of charge to get me as close to the reception as they could. Absolutely amazing. I would recommend staying here purely for the staff. so lovely, so helpful. nothing seems too much for them. but then on top of that the actual hotel is...
