What a magical place surrounded by pure beauty. Our time at Cairnhill was nothing short of spectacular, from the views, to the proximity to the trail heads, to the incredible hospitality of Elaine and Cameron.
For anyone looking for a little slice of heaven, tucked amongst some of the most magnificent natural beauty and wild life around, look no further. We feel very lucky to have been able to spend a few days here enjoying the trails, the scenery and the local wild life, including a visit from multiple red tailed squirrels and even a Scottish wildcat.
Elaine and Cameron were the perfect addition to our stay, making sure we not only felt at home and safe, but that we also had all the information we needed to make the most out of our time. They are two of the best hosts we have encountered in our travels thus far. They are kind, extremely knowledgeable about the area and things to do, and their attention to detail on the property is something to aspire to.
Cairnhill is perfect home away from home for anyone and everyone and we can't wait to return!

Read moreWe have just spent the most amazing week at Cairnhill Lodge. This is the most beautiful home away from home. It’s cosy, has everything you need to make your stay comfy and has the most peaceful setting. We loved having our morning coffee outside watching the red squirrels coming to have their breakfast and there was an abundance of birds who popped in regularly during the day to nibble and natter at the bird feeders. The surrounding area is absolutely breath taking with lovely walks right on the doorstep of the cottage. Cameron and Elaine are the most charming hosts and we’ve really enjoyed their company. Their love of this beautiful piece of heaven comes through. They have a well stocked library and games box! We are very sad to have to go back to the real world and will definitely be back. We can highly recommend this beautiful lodge. Thank you both for making our time...
Read moreWe enjoyed a perfect stay at Cairnhill Lodge in summer, taking advantage of the long hours of daylight to squeeze in so many activities. Cameron & Elaine are extremely knowledgeable about the local area and advised us on a manageable circular cycle route to the Wee House of Glenshee Tea Room. The scenery was stunning, with heather on the hillsides, babbling brooks, quaint pubs, castles and lochs. It was bliss to return to the luxurious comfort of the Lodge, have a long hot soak in the bath and indulge in the welcoming atmosphere. Our evenings were spent dining al fresco on the balcony, soaking up the peace and tranquillity of the gorgeous setting. We would love to come back during winter to experience the beauty of the area again and relax in this cosy home away from home, tucked up by the...
