Carpenters Cottage — Hotel in Great Britain

I have never left a bad review in my life as dislike negative energy but these people were so awful I felt compelled to write this,

We arrived to a property which sat within a 100 yards of your house and felt like unwelcome interlopers from the start. Not only did they leave no welcome notes for the property, firewood nor even a welcome bottle of wine but the whole property reeked of oil from a faulty boiler and we had no hot water. We would much rather not have to ask any questions but in light of the above i had to send a succession of polite texts. The response was shocking! After filling a kettle several times for a bath I then had to answer the door in my nightie to find Karen and her husband standing there looking furious. I hadnt even complained and my texts were polite so this was completely unjustified. Karen stormed into the kitchen and opened a random cupboard to retrieve notes, which you slammed onto the kitchen table. We hadn't even met thr husband, he didnt introduce himself just made a deragatory remark about our dog then confrontionally stalked into the bathroom accusing me of lying about the water!. All this whilst i am standing there in my nightie! I was shaking and so shocked i could hardly speak. All i was able to say was to introduce myself, my natural good manners just kicked in when it should have been them putting us at ease!!

After this we were both so uncomfortable we got dressed and booked into a hotel. They never questioned where we had gone or even apologised about the issues. When we returned the next day we had to close all the curtains as the husband pointedly kept looking in the window. We felt threatened and unwelcome so we left! Im not a confrontational person nor have i ever left a bad review but i was frankly so shocked by the thuggish behaviour. They knew we had left yet made no contact to ask why.

I would strongly recommend everyone to not choose this property, these people are truly awful and you are effectively living so close to them you have no privacy. This has been the most upsetting experience ive ever had renting a cottage. I might add we were actually in the area looking at properties to move but these people were so boorish we cancelled our appointments, I certainly wouldnt want them...

Magical, perfect cottage in the perfect location with perfect owners. We had a amazing time, the cottage is very well equipped, comfortable and sparkling clean. It exceeded all our expectations, the owners were very friendly and extremely helpful, we have an epileptic dog and as soon as we arrived the owner drove to the 24 hours vet hospital in the village so I would know where to go if my dog had a seizure, we were extremely grateful for this and it really helped put our minds at rest. Just had a wonderful seven days at this gorgeous old cottage set in a tranquil setting. The cottage is kitted out beautifully with everything you need for a care free holiday. The owners Karen Steve and family are very welcoming and helpful going out of there way to make our stay and the dogs care free and relaxing.

So glad didn't take notice of the one bad review because we can't think where that one came from thinking it must be for somewhere else and not for this holiday let at...
