A very warm welcome from Sandie with cakes already placed in our rooms and milk in fridge ready for a cuppa. The family room was very spacious with plenty of storage space and wonderful views over fields. The twin room again had loads of space and both en-suite bathrooms were very clean with all that you require. With high chairs both up and downstairs it was easy for our 9 month old to be accommodated for very easily. The kitchen had all the equipment you needed and the dishwasher was a bonus. We did not need to light the fire as we found it was nice and warm throughout. The downstairs room was lovely for son/daughter in law and 9 month old to be chilled out on their own with lots of space and a wonderful shower room. We didn't mind the location at all because our 8 year old and 5 year old had space to run around. Lovely chatting to both Sandie & Michael during our stay. Apart from visiting family after Covid, we had a great time at the Chesters Fort 1/2 mile away and a great time was had by us all at Spook Night in Hexham. Thank you all,...

Our little cottage was private - had its own back garden with patio. The kitchen-living room was exceedingly well-appointed, with a sofa and 'guest chair, as well as the three or four chairs round the not-poky table. Fresh flowers, an electric mock-wood-burning stove. Large, comfortable bed - though a bit hard for us - think it was new. Attractive bedlinen and ample storage in antique wardrobe and chest of drawers, etc. Large bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. Lots of really hot water and large, soft, fluffy towels (so often there are not, so we REALLY appreciated these). Nice toiletries. Everything had been thought of for our comfort. Our only beef- the lighting was too low in the bedroom - especially the reading lamps. I had to peer. BUT - we appreciate that this is DEEP country. so maybe unavoidable. Sandie and MIchael very kind and attentive hosts. We'll...
