Good location, within driving distance of lots of landmark Highland locations (Glencoe, Skye, list goes on). Plenty of parking too. Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Building wise, the ground floor is quite spectacular with lots of nice ornaments, and has separate rooms for both breakfast and lunch and tea. It also has a nice bar area with very nice fireplaces to make it nice and cosy. The two different rooms we stayed at were nice, big and old style, with all the expected amenities. Very confortable beds. The only little niggle is, as we stayed in two different rooms, the room "without a view" had a better view than the room we paid a view for 🤔. I guess it was just down to available rooms though! Overall a great and recommended experience!

Absolutely fantastic hotel not too far from Oban. Although we initially wanted to stay there, I'm actually very happy with our final choice. The falls of Lora hotel in Connel has an old time charm and cosy atmosphere that blend in nicely with their comfortable rooms and facilities. Our room was small but perfect for what we needed, the bed was a dream and the shower was incredible (that water pressure 🤩). The views over the loch are not bad either. We also had breakfast there and I can say it was really good. Fantastic choice between hot and cold options and amazing customer service. I'm certainly bookmarking this one for next time we're in the area.

We stayed here whilst Portree Gaelic choir were taking part in the Royal National MOD . The service was 5* the staff managed magnificently with a large group of guests arriving for an early morning breakfast at the same time . The staff serving were friendly, thoughtful and very helpful. Our room was on the ground floor and overlooked the river at the front. It was spacious and comfy. A little too warm but radiators were turned off and windows opened easily. Would definitely return.

Beautiful exterior; interior decor is all over the place - very random. My rating is purely to do with the quality of our stay (room accommodations, sleep comfortability, etc). I had high hopes for this hotel based on all the reviews online and our travel agent's recommendation. When we got there, the staff was very friendly and gave us all the pertinent information. As we walked up stairs, through the doors, down the hall, down another set of stairs, around a corner, and down another hall, we passed by a few beautiful rooms with updated spa baths, king size canopy beds, split level floor plans, seating areas, and more. We were really getting excited to see our room! After our excursion through the hotel to our room (mind you we have three large luggages, two bags, and an infant in tow), we opened our door to be sorely disappointed. By far, this was the smallest room we have stayed in during all of our trips to the UK. We booked a double room with a cot for our infant son and our room barely fit the small [dare I say] queen-size bed, let alone the bed AND a cot. We barely had any room to move and had to stack our luggages on top of one another, on the small end table. The bathroom was outdated - you could tell that was the last on their list to be updated as the beds and other furniture had clearly been updated in the past few years. The worst part however was how utterly uncomfortable the bed was. I like a firm mattress, but this was like sleeping on a rock! My husband, nor I, barely got any sleep either night and woke up with sore backs and tight necks. It was the most uncomfortable sleep I can remember. I will say, however, the saving grace was the staff; they were all extremely friendly and welcoming! Not to mention, the view from our room was beautiful. Clear view, overlooking the loch - simply gorgeous! Oh, and both dinner and breakfast we're delicious and again, the staff was very friendly! Overall, not a terrible stay, but the rooms are super tiny (unless you upgrade accordingly), bathrooms are outdated, and beds are...

It was good until this morning! Booked in for breakfast for 9am; breakfast arrived 9.40am despite those around us who come in after us and received theirs before us. My husband asked for the full breakfast but also asked if he could have some kippers with it. Lady that served us huffed and said I’ll write it down but will have to ask the chef. When the breakfast came it was lovely however had to wait a further 5 minutes for toast which was cold upon its arrival. Upon checkout the receptionist was lovely; offered to refund the £20 breakfast cost which we declined as we had eaten it. Also It was a bit of a free for all for the self serve and with social distance and hand sanitising not being adhered to by guests. Obviously not the hotels fault however no challenge in regards to this observed. The suite we had was lovely and spacious with its own balcony (there were 3 of us). Meals we had the night before were lovely and we were served promptly and efficiently. My only concern was the close proximity of the tables. Where we were sat the chap to the right of me was nearly sitting on my lap! The actual decor itself is quite dated and could do with a refresh but that’s only my own personal taste. Would we stay there again? Probably if they could get the breakfast...

This is a fantastic hotel. It has in interesting old world feel. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was immaculate, room 42 has a luxurious sumptuous feel of decadence and luxury with its extra large round bed the large oval spa bath has without doubt been designed for sharing and the vast array of lights allow for alsorts of mood. The gold backing to the head board and the honey comb wall paper just set the room off. The wall mounted smart TV is unobtrusive until needed then the wall mount allows for perfect adjustment. The bar was closed for refurbishment but looked very classy indeed. The breakfast was well cooked and delicious the choice was varied and the staff provided a great service. The whole hotel was immaculate and a credit to their cleaners. A great place for lone travellers or couples. Would have no difficulty recommending a stay here....
