The cottage is in a picturesque location but that's were the good stops. The cottage smelt damp when we arrived, the only heating is a wood burner for which a very small amount of wood was supplied, we asked for more as the cottage was cold and were told we needed to buy it. I've never stayed in an Airbnb were you have to pay for heating, this is a basic requirement. If you stay here in autumn or winter it would be unbarably cold and expensive to keep warm. No towels were supplied and no mention of this in the ad and a bottle of hand soap was left in the shower in assuming was in place of shower gel. The shower was very low powered with a really noisy fan. The hotch pouch of furniture is truly odd and not much of it and there was terrible internet. I would avoid as it all seemed a bit too much effort for the owner who clearly had no idea how to set up and Airbnb bar for poor Eskimos. Sadly th it s seems to be becoming more common in the Airbnb world were they expect money...
Read moreWe stayed here for a weekend and can't really recommend it. The cottages are furnished in a rather spartan way and while reasonably clean, they do have an unpleasant damp smell. The location itself is truly great, but much of the experience is muted by the less than ideal accommodation. If you want to light the wood burner you will have to split the wood yourself, in a barn without lights... for this pleasure they try to charge you per basket, even though the wood is not properly dried. They mention that wifi is available, it's not! There's a network to connect to, but no internet connection... The worst was probably the sheer amount of rules and instructions that were spread all over the cottage, which didn't do much to make us...
Read moreThis cottage is in a beautiful location, surrounded by trees and garden. It is quiet and secluded and there is more than one cottage on the site so larger groups could stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the cottage was very clean and tidy. Stairs in Pool Cottage (I don't know about the others) are very steep so would not be great for anyone with mobility issues. The only thing I would suggest as an improvement would be that the bathroom and downstairs toilet need to be refurbished as they are quite tired (although fully functional). It was also quite cold, and felt a tiny bit damp, which might be due to single glazed windows. We would...
