Very bad experience with the management of the house. But one thing after the other. We booked a tourist pitch for a week (week 29/2022) at this campsite and were looking forward to a great time. This was done with immediate full payment. 3 days before the start of our stay we were informed that there was a construction site on the tourist site. This was not nice news to receive when we were already on the road. We were offered to camp at the construction site with a discount, to postpone the stay or to cancel the stay with full repayment. The holiday can't be postponed just like that and you can't relax on a construction site. As a consequence, we chose to get the refund. It was really not easy to find an alternative in the main tourist season. The cancellation was communicated by email with the request to confirm the refund. After several emails and phone calls, we did not receive a confirmation of the refund or the refund itself after 2 weeks. We had no good feeling about getting our money back. At the end of the holiday, we were nearby the campsite, so we went to the reception to ask about the refund in person. Again we were put off with the statement that the refund was being processed. When the manager of the shop got involved, it became very unpleasant. The conversation first started calmly and factually. When he ran out of excuses for not paying, the man completely lost it. He shouted at us, "he wouldn't have to pay us anything ... " threw us out of the reception and slammed the door loudly several times behind us. In the process, he almost injured my wife's foot. And that is where comprehension ends. Clearly, a line of decency has been crossed here. Anyone who treats their guests this way should not be allowed to promote themselves with 5-star customer service on their homepage. Everything seems to be fine as long as he has his money. But when communication with guests is required, and things don't work out, he is overwhelmed and...

Stayed in the “superior sea-view” lodge named Brig Y Don number 4 — paid considerably more for this upgrade, and honestly, I regret it.

Arrived for the advertised 4pm check-in only to be told the lodge wasn’t ready. I ended up waiting nearly an hour outside, cold and damp after a sea swim, while cleaners scrambled to finish. I was eventually offered a bottle of wine (worth about £11) as an apology. Nice gesture, but I paid for a premium stay — not a pity Malbec.

Inside the lodge, it still wasn’t up to scratch: sticky oven trays, dirty placemats, stones on the entry bench, breeze blocks around the hot tub, a broken fan in the en-suite, and exposed wiring on the hot tub controls (photo attached).

The “sea view” was barely visible — half the decking was unusable due to a large tree, and from the hot tub, the view was non-existent unless you stood up. Definitely not what’s shown in the advertising.

Also worth noting: while I was left waiting in the cold, I watched several couples check in without delay. As a solo traveller, I couldn’t help but feel I was given lower priority — which only added to the sense of being overlooked.

I emailed to complain and received a polite, carefully worded apology. Management said they’d pass on the feedback and review how lodges are described — but no offer of a refund or future discount. Just a vague “thanks for your input” and a bottle of red I didn’t ask for.

The décor was genuinely lovely — warm lighting, soft throws, and a homely feel — but that’s the only part that lived up to “superior.” The rest? Overpriced, underwhelming, and honestly, very...

Several areas did not meet expectations, but we a generally enjoyable stay. While we were initially allocated a different lodge (we had booked superior lodge 2 but were given lodge 10) we found lodge 10 to be quite nice and comfortable. It had great atmosphere and interior and we made most of it. Kitchen supplies: with four guests, we found that the crockery and cutlery of four each was not enough especially when self catering, also kitchen knifes are blunt that it was difficult to chop even spring onions for salads. Toilet roll: we were disappointed to find that there weren’t enough toilet rolls to last the duration of our stay. By the end, we run out, which was inconvenient. Bin bags: only one bin bag and no spares anywhere. Cleanliness: we noticed some dog hairs on the cushions in the bedrooms which wasn’t ideal. The kitchen wear also needed more attention, with trays and oven not as clean as we expected. Check in and check out times: one issue that we found particularly frustrating was late check in time of 4pm and an early check out time of 10 am. Given that we were also expected to leave the lodge tidy, it felt unreasonable. The early check out and the requirements to clean the place wasn’t acceptable, especially considering the pricing. Ultimately while we did enjoy our stay, we feel that for the price paid, the value for money was lacking. Given the issues with cleanliness, the lack of basic amenities, and the inconvenient check in and check out times, we don’t feel that we would return in the future or recommend the resort to any of our family...

Camped here for 7 nights with my family. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Campsite is so peaceful, probably due to the fact there is no play area so maybe not many people with kids stay here. Absolutely stunning location with breathtaking views, and gorgeous sunsets every single night. Small shop on site that sells all the basic essentials. Toilet and shower block very clean, also always so warm, such a relief to get a heat after walking from your tent in the wind and cold. Also a laundry room with washing machines/dryers/ironing board etc and there is dishwashing facilities and microwaves. Several camping pods and cabins on site too which looked lovely. Frequently see perigrine falcons flying by and many other rare bird species. We had a bit of a problem getting our tent pegs into the ground but this was probably a good thing as it stopped our tent from blowing away 😂😭 (it's constantly so windy as you're on the top of cliffs). The road leading to the campsite is very narrow, with barely any passing places so take extreme care, especially if towing a caravan. All in all we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend a stay here.
