My friend Yvonne and I, at short notice, opted to participate in a workshop which was being run nearby. We decided that venturing down from London necessitated finding somewhere to stay overnight. After a number of frustrating enquiries elsewhere I came across and, after chatting with the owner Rita, was successful in booking two rooms at Fosse Farm Cottage. Yvonne and I both thought the location, house and garden charming. The accommodation felt very private, characterful, quiet, homely and was spotlessly clean. Our rooms were of a good size and the views from them, gorgeous. Rita (and her delightful and friendly dogs) were lovely hosts. On recommendation, we ate a delicious dinner at The Bell, a brief drive away. Unfortunately, my tedious back found the bed in my bedroom rather too firm, so I wasn’t able to rest as well as I would have hoped, though Yvonne had a blissfully comfortable night’s sleep in hers. Arriving downstairs, the morning began with the sight of a welcoming and elegantly laid breakfast table. We enjoyed fruit juice and fruit salad to begin with, then on offer was a choice of cereals (which neither of us decided to have) followed by a superbly prepared, entirely non-greasy cooked ‘Full English’, the components of which had been decided upon the previous evening, in addition to toast, butter and marmalade and our choice of accompanying drinks. All in all, really marvellous. Yvonne and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fosse Farm Cottage, felt it very good value and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to those looking to stay in the area....
Read moreI can not thank Caron, the owner, enough as she really went above and beyond for the hen party stay we had this weekend. Having previously booked for March when we had a massive downpour of snow that prevented us reaching the cottage (or anywhere for that matter!) Caron kindly postponed our trip so we could salvage my friends hen do. This last weekend was lucky with glorious sunshine which meant we could fully enjoy the perks of the garden and bbq outside the garden house which we had booked alongside the stables. ||The rooms were comfortable and all had en suites. We spent time in the garden house and the stables which boasts a long table that worked well for breakfasts over the two nights we stayed. The kitchens were both well equipped and there was nothing further we could have needed.||The cottages were both rustic and full of charm. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and Bath is only a short drive away. ||There was an impressive thunderstorm during our stay and Caron had emailed me to tell me the Wi-Fi and then power went out in the farmhouse - this didn't affect us as we were enjoying a meal in a nearby pub - but did mean we could wait out the storm rather than return to a dark cottage so the update was appreciated!||Thank you from me and the rest of the ladies for a very...
