A small building situated on a working farm consisting of three guest rooms adjoining a breakfast/communal room. Satnav is not reliable when finding the place so I would recommend some good old map reading, digital or otherwise. Be aware that the sign for the farm is not visible when coming from the north so it's easy to miss.||||Stayed for an entire week and we had the family room, very spacious with a firm bed (plus bunk beds) and a fantastic shower. Very clean. There was a slight problem with the bathroom door that required some extra oomph in opening it from the bedroom side and the lock didn't seem to work but nothing major. ||||Breakfast was served for us at 8:30am but I believe it was staggered from 8am to 8:15am and onward to allow the owner to cook everybody's breakfast in a timely fashion. Less waiting yet still get to meet the other guests.||The food itself was faultless, a good old full English was on offer as well as a few cereals, yogurts and fruit juices. The owner even asked us if we wanted something different as we were staying so long. My one critique is that the full English breakfast was missing baked beans but I'm sure if I had asked I would have found some on my plate the next time.||||The owner was very accommodating, friendly and extremely polite. Juggling a small B&B along with his 700 odd cattle and farm must be a nightmare and I commend him on it. ||||From the hooting owls at night and mooing cows in the morning, the interesting roads leading up to the farm and the fantastic night sky for stargazing; Garras Farm is a wonderful and Idyllic place to stay that's very central in Cornwall with Truro a short 10 minute drive away. We would definitely stay again if we visit Cornwall...
Read moreWe are here. I was a bit apprehensive because of some negative reviews but the accomodation and surrounding scenery is worth the narrow lane and lack of road signs when you are driving to it. There is nothing around. Only peace and quiet. You can't even hear the farm noise. Or the smell as someone mentioned. The property is very clean and everything is thought of. The bedrooms all three plus the ensuites lovely, toilet rolls and handwash in every bathroom . The bathroom of the first room hot water runs out so quickly that it is difficult for two people to have a shower at one go. Kitchen .... Mostly new items. Iron and ironing board. Vacuum cleaner. Broom brush. Mop Even the washing up liquid is provided.||Sitting dining room.... Big corner sofa. A bit soft for my liking but there are two tub chairs I like. The dining table is big enough for 8.||Outside garden.. big lawn.good for young to have an active holiday instead of the TV and internet. Which by the way is quite strong. There is a tree swing and ball games things.a BBQ and two picnic tables and benches. But the most important thing is the scenery around.||Only thing needed improvement is the signs as the lanes are confusing.||It is such a lovely place that my grand daughter declared that she doesn't want to go back home. Decided that the bedroom with the bunk bed is theirs and bunk bed her...
Read moreA converted granite cart shed provided us with a super room, comfy double bed and bathroom, all very warm and perfectly clean throughout. ||Lovely towels and bathroom sundries, coffee and tea in the room with plenty of English milk.||Sumptuous country style full English breakfast cooked by the owner himself with all the extras you would find in a good hotel.||Trouble free Wifi.||Lots of parking available, just mind the friendly duck that lives nearby!||Well off the beaten track with no street lights so be prepared to share the road with the local wildlife eg; badgers, owls, roe deer and rabbits (we didnt see a fox tho) but still only around 5miles by road from Truro.||Rural Cornwall at its very best.||Very highly...
