Have stayed here on two separate occasions as part of a group of 14 people. Beautiful location and woodland surrounding the area.||The hostel itself is run by a very friendly man who is always willing to help and lives next door. The hostel is well maintained and cleaned. The rooms were freezing though as we were there in February and there is only heating in the hallway and main living area downstairs and the bathrooms (3). This was only an issue the first night as the place had warmed up by the second night. ||Large dining table for all 14 of us to sit and large enough to not feel cramped. Great for outdoor activities. ||Kitchen is a good size and is self catered. Contains dishwasher also. Drying area is available for outdoor gear and contains washing machine and tumble dryer although we didn't use them. Lovely porch area with a picnic table. Most rooms contain 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4 people) and one room contains 4 single beds. Bed linen provided by hostel.||Over all very good and would continue to bring groups here again if ever...
Read moreA group of 11 of us headed up for a outdoor focused stag do and what can I say, we were all very impressed by the space available in the living areas, bedrooms and bathrooms. The hostel has a very homely feel about it, and comes with everything you need for your stay! Well very equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining space, 4 bedrooms sleep 4 each, BBQ area, and great showers with plenty of hot water for everyone!||||Be aware that there is no TV and phone signal can be limited, but we all enjoyed getting away from technology for the weekend and so this didn't bother us at all. ||||The setting is amazing, and its very well sign posted (just be aware that the satnav will take you past the hostel by about a mile I think). Then places like Aviemore and some of the activity basecamps (G2 Outdoors) are all within a 30...
Read moreExcellent hostel with good amenities and friendly owners who were incredibly helpful. Accommodation was good with 3 showers and toilets and a well-supplied kitchen. You are really out in the wilds so don;t expect mobile reception but wifi is available. Superb views and many cracking walks nearby, albeit the Scottish Weather wasn't too kind to us, even in August.||Everything was neat and clear and there is a huge living room to relax in, although there is no television or radio so bring your own entertainment.||Food at teh nearby Watersports centre was surprisingly good and taxis to nearby Aviemore were...
