Grange Country House — Hotel in Great Britain

Visited for a week with our two greyhounds, the apartment is cosy, and the decor is perfect and gives a welcoming feel.||Kitchen is well equipped with every item you are ever likely to need.||Nice big garden for dog wees.||2 excellent walks within 30 feet from the house.||One walk leads off the back garden and takes you high above and has stunning views overlooking Loweswater.||The other takes you to the lakeside, ask Lorna the Grange owner for directions to the waterfall it's a beautiful spot.||Location is ideal for touring the Solway coast and the lake district.||Keith and Lorna made us and our hounds very welcome.||Sasha the resident dog woofs at you but don't worry about that ignore her, you can she loves a nice tickle behind the ears and a belly rub.||And may be waiting outside the front door for a treat when you get up.||We would definitely...

Just back from a week's memorable self-catering stay at The Grange, my third such visit, the last being in 2008 although from the warm-hearted owners' hospitality it could have been last month. I booked direct with the owners which was very easy. Delicious tin of home-made biscuits greeted my arrival. Ground floor flat (Mosser) was warm, comfortable,spacious and well furnished with all amenities I needed. As I was on my own I particularly enjoyed chats with the owners who made me feel so welcome. As a photographer/rambler with health limitations I found The Grange a perfect base for level walks amidst truly breathtaking scenery. What an absolutely delightful hotel! |Laura and Keith were such lovely hosts who were so welcoming. The food was plentiful with lots of choice of traditional home cooked British cuisine for breakfast and dinner which included substantial portions of fresh vegetables. The bar was well stocked with local beers and and a variety of wines. The very quiet location was ideal for some good fell walking and lakeside strolls as well as peaceful swimming. The rooms were spacious and beautifully clean with traditional furnishings and modern en suite bathrooms. I would certainly recommend this small and friendly establishment and I hope to return...
