This place is very sweet BUT I wouldn't recommend it to campers. If you're Glamping, fill your boots. It's definitely set up well for that but I don't know if adding a camping field was really the best move? 6 of us stayed for 3 nights total. First issue with camping is the field - it's a tent peg graveyard! It looks grassy but just underneath it's all rocks. Putting the tents up was a nightmare and we've come back with a variety of bent or even broken pegs, that's just the ones we could get out of the ground. Secondly, it is a bit of a trek to the toilet block and shower facilities. All well and good until a 3am toilet trip is needed with your young kids! Thirdly, there are no washer/dryer facilities as advertised - they're there but clearly say "for staff use only" on them. Things we did like was location - we had good days out in both Scarborough and Bridlington. Also, the cafe on site does pre-order pizzas we enjoyed on the second night which was a nice treat for the crew. The staff were lovely in fairness - we enjoyed the fire pits on all nights and we'd reordered these and were delivered directly to our pitch. Slightly mixed review but in essence I won't be going back to camp. I may go back for Glamping.

We stayed from 16 aug till 23 aug 2022. General feel; Very nice, clean and well maintained! You emediately feel relaxed. Surrounding and location: It's a very quite and relaxing environment. The farm is well located away from buisy roads. Excellent if you want relax. The surroundings are perfect for walking/hiking. There are some routes. Due to the central location, nearby touristic places are within 1 hour drive. Gas station is nearby. I haven't spotted services for electric cars, but I could have missed that. Entertainment: Every morning around 9, the kids can help the farmer with feeding the animals. There are sheep, donkeys, guinneypigs and chickens. There is a big playfield with soccergoals. There is no animationteam. Cottage: Very clean, spacy and well maintained! There is even a hottub! This is glamping! Our tips: 1. If you visit tows, I reccomended to make use of the park&ride facilities. 2. York is absolutely fantastic!

I booked both Swallow's Nest cottage and Humble Bee cottage to stay in with family and friends to celebrate my 30th birthday and some friends also booked the chief wigwam and deluxe wigwam glamping pods. The cottages where so spacious, clean and the perfect place to gather for drinks, BBQ and dip in the hot tub! All the staff on site were extremely helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The site is in a stunning location, has lots to see and do including walks from the site, just a few minutes drive from nearby beaches and only 15 minutes drive from North Yorkshire water park, which were both great additions to our weekend! I will definitely be coming back to Humble Bee farm for another holiday soon, thank you for making my big celebration so special!

Humble Bee Farm Glamping & Camping Dog attack by owners Jack Russell I feel that I need to add this review regarding the unfortunate incident that is mentioned in a previous review. I was right in the middle of it having the puppy on the lead when she was attacked. Firstly, there are factors of the response that I would agree with. Yes the gate that was left open for the terrier to escape may have been by accident and at no point was it suggested otherwise. No matter how well an establishment is run things can go wrong and accidents happen it’s how they are dealt with that really matters. I also agree that following the incident I had a chat with the lady owner. We were both understandably very upset but I thought it had been left for us to draw a line under the incident. The lady owner did say to me how sorry she was. She also explained her slow response was that she was in shock. I think we can agree that we were all in shock. The shouting from us was simply us begging for somebody to get the terrier under control. I would not agree that the attack was over in seconds at all. This incident was not seen by anybody other than our family and the lady owner. A guest on the site and a member of staff were within the shop and they could only hear the screeching of the puppy, the barking of the terrier and us shouting for it to be brought under control. After my chat to the owner in which I assumed a line had been drawn we were then paid a visit by a gentleman who we now know to be the owner (he had never introduced himself to us.) We invited him in to cottage believing he had come to apologise. How wrong could we be. He mocked the fact that the puppy’s ear wasn’t hanging off and he thought it must have been judging by our reaction. We explained the blood had been cleaned up from her leg. I absolutely refute the suggestion he mentioned referring us to a vet if we thought it necessary. Unless of course we misunderstood and there is a vet locally called U R Pathetic. At no point did any apology come from the male owner. At this point we asked him to step outside as he was speaking in this manner in front of our 4 and 7 year old grandchildren. The 4 year old had witnessed the attack and we felt it totally inappropriate for her to hear what was being said. The discussion did continue outside with the male owner shouting and being abusive with him repeatedly saying we were all pathetic and asking us all to leave. A simple apology could have resolved this but unfortunately it was not forthcoming. I wonder whether the staff witnessed that too? We were just astonished how this incident seemed to have been turned around. I find this extremely sad after the chat I had with the lady owner seemingly amicable and a line drawn under incident. What is also very sad is that until this point we had been having a lovely time and the cottage was very nice and the young staff who seemed to be running the place when we arrived were all friendly...

We booked this site having wanted to go for years and we could see it was going to be windy but the forecast suggested that the wind would die down early evening in the local area. ||We got a phone call on the morning of arrival to say as a courtesy call it was going to be windy but at no point did the person on the phone mention that the field where the camping is is completely exposed to the wind and on top of a hill. They also didn't suggest we cancel they just suggested we left the tent being put up til early evening. ||We arrived to Gale force winds and literally someone's tent was completely destroyed by them. We went down to the main area which for reference is not 100 metres from the camping field, it is up and down a hill and a 5 minute walk and if you had small children or mobility issues you would need to drive. ||By 7pm the winds had still not settled and I do believe that that field would be windy all the time because of the location of it. We travelled 2.5 hours and we didn't find the owners to show any concern for welfare of those camping in the field or any real empathy. They did repeat we'd been called but not to tell us that it was going to be like that or we wouldn't have travelled. They allowed us to use the 4 nights payment for camping for 1 night in a very basic pod. For me they should have just put us up in that out of common decency and given us a refund. ||We are not trying to say that the site can control the weather but we do think that if they know that field is so exposed to the elements and likely to break your tent/be a danger to those inside they should have a duty of care to be more transparent. ||Two families on the camping field who had arrived like us having also not been given the full picture, had to sleep in their cars. ||After a final attempt this morning we decided to leave and if I'm honest I would never return. ||The site is nice, the toilets and showers were OK. The camping ones were pretty grim, the glamping ones more modern but they weren't very clean. | |If it was me I would move the play barns and put them on top of the hill where the camping is and move the camping down in to the sheltered bit or just drop the camping completely because it feels like an after thought and just a way to make a bit of additional money. There needs to be a toilet block nearer the camping area and more of a warning about how exposed it is. ||The boys enjoyed feeding the animals. The cafe is nice. The kids liked the play area and the setting is very peaceful as...

WARNING for anybody thinking of visiting with a dog or child

We recently visited for a special 60th birthday weekend. When walking past reception with my 4 year old and 9 month old puppy (that was on the lead) our dog was attacked by the owners Jack Russell. A gate was left open in the shop and instantly started attacking our dog and my mother in law. My poor mother in law was trying to pick up our dog (who was very distressed and bleeding) while being in fear of being bitten at herself. It took a long time for the lady owner to arrive and when she did she did absolutely nothing to stop her dog but just stood there looking bemused. As my mother in law was able to get hold of our dog the Jack Russell was hanging from my dogs leg, and yet the owner did nothing (we discovered later from the guy owner that she doesn’t know how to handle the dog which may explain why she did nothing).

What is even more concerning is from looking at reviews online a child was attacked by a dog of theirs previously needing eye surgery (to which I was glad I was holding my little one during this attack and she wasn’t in reach)! This shows that they are clearly incapable of owning dogs on-site what is a place that welcomes small children and dogs.

I fully accept that accidents happen but what I don’t accept is the way they behaved after. The lady did nothing to help, just stood there saying what am I supposed to do (and was offended when we were frantically shouting at her to help) and her husband made a joke out of the whole situation implying that it was fine because my dogs ear “wasn’t hanging off”. We received no sincere apology for what happened and I would urge anybody with small children and dogs to think carefully when attending.

From reading other reviews there’s a very common theme, lovely idea of a place but completely ruined by the owners (and their very vicious dogs). What a way to end such a...
