Although this is predominantly a caravan park rather than a campsite, there are still a number of lovely places to pitch a tent. The staff were exceptionally friendly - we arrived after midnight and they came to help us put up our tent. I've never experienced that before. They also opened up the shop early for us in the morning. The only slight grumble were the showers in the [very nice] toilet block went hot/cold/hot/cold quickly, although when I told the site owner she offered to refund the £2 hot water cost and said she would fix it quickly. We used Inglenook Caravan Park as a base for climbing Scafell Pike when all the other sites were fully booked or didn't want us to arrive too late in the evening. I thoroughly recommend...
Read moreThe better half and myself wanted somewhere to base a weekend of walking from and found this place. We stayed in Treetops owned by Louise who couldn’t have been more helpful. After travelling to the lakes she allowed us to check in slightly early and once there we were created with a lovely basket of goodies which was a lovely touch. We drove the 10 miles to Buttermere the next day where climbed Red Pike, walked along the ridge to High Stile and then on to Haystacks. We headed back to the warmth and comfort of the lodge and spent a lovely Saturday night in front of the tv with some food and a well earned drink.
