Inglewood Spa Day, Alloa, very disappointing experience #Alloa #spa #terrible #zingintospring #poorservice #poorfacillites #nosauna #jacuzzi #steamroom #scones #countryside #rushed #massage #scrub #3/10 #fyp #foryoupage hate being negative or bad review but thus overall was not good, extra £10pp for afternoon tea, when asked for massage instead of scrub, there was extra charge £10pp and even that was supposed to be 24 mins but more like 15 min. we couldn't wait to leave. There was no spa vibe and basic customer service. Zing to spring package was £65pp and biggest waste of money ever. Jacuzzi & heated stone bed was the only redeeming part of experience! 3/10

Tonight my beautiful friend and me are at Inglewood House Hotel in Alloa, we have a stall at the winter wonderland christmas market. Come and see us, we are here with lots of christmas gift ideas, jewellery, gift vouchers, skincare, silk pillowslips and free chocolate. ❤️💋🥰🎄

Our party booked our Christmas party here, first time doing so. The hotel was nearly full, so we opted for the pods in the grounds. If you are in the pods, there is parking to the rear of the hotel. The pods are really close to the hotel and although they are in the trees, there are tarmac paths between the pods and hotel. There are steps up to the pod level. The pods themselves were large with a double bed, shower and toilet to the rear, a sink and fridge in the middle with a seating area and TV to the front. I'm 6'4" tall and found it easy to live here. There was plenty of head room, the bed was long enough and it had a large shower. It did say there was underfloor heating but we found the radiator was hot enough. In fact, I had to open the door halfway through the night to let some cool air in and this was in December. They are really nice pods, ours only spoiled by stains on the seating and the flooring coming apart. There were no cooking facilities, but it did have a kettle with tea and coffee. There are no cupboards and a lack of hooks to hang up clothing (2 behind the door to the right and a curtain rail without a curtain above the bed but bring your own coat hangers). I would hope the hotel would grit the tarmac in the winter as it was a bit slippy in the wet, especially with kilt shoes on. The hotel itself was beautiful, really nicely set out. There is a great wee seating area opposite the reception with a roaring log fire but this area does get busy. The Christmas party started with canopies and drinks, then we were taken to our tables. We sat 10 at our round table comfortably. The meal was your standard Christmas meal, 3 courses. This tasted good, no complaints. Then the band started, it was an ok band singing all the standard party songs but it was kind of let down when they left for a break and put on some horrible tracks, even a tape of Christmas classics would of been better. No one danced for about half an hour. The price of the drinks in this hotel was surprisingly good value, over half the price of other establishments we have had Christmas parties in (Crieff Hydro, Athol Palace, Pitlochry for example) On our return to the pods at night, apart from the music from the end of the party, it was relatively quiet. Breakfast wasn't included in the price of the party so we opted to buy it at £15 a head. I think as there are no cooking facilities in the pods, maybe breakfast should be included in the price of the party night. The breakfast was self-service with plenty of hot and cold food. We had to ask for baked beans. Can I just end with a massive thank you to all the staff, their hard work throughout the night made it a very pleasing event. They are a credit to the Hotel, can the manager please pass this on to them. Our party of 10 people would certainly book again.

I booked one night's stay at Inglewood House for £89 while in Scotland for the first time, visiting family - I had the Wee Room which is a single room with a comfy bed, blackout blinds, good shower.

The building & the grounds are stunning & the staff are generally pleasant.

The breakfast was included in the price & was good, with a lot of choice. The cappuccino had an industrial taste but was drinkable.

I booked the stay because of the spa & the 4.5 rating on Google Maps, as I had been driving a lot in the previous week & had a painful stiff neck - the spa turned out to be disappointing & also a bit intimidating.

As another reviewer has said, the spa consists of two moldy hot tubs which likely gave me an infection which developed the day after my visit, a small infrared sauna, a Swedish sauna & a steam room. The shower within the Spa area only had cold water.

It was not busy when I went, only me (a woman) & two men. Because of the layout & location of the facilities within the sauna, it felt a bit intimidating as there was no staff presence at all while I was there for 2 hours with these two men. If you used the reclining heated loungers you could see random discarded bits of large plastic tubes, beer cans & random bits on top of the infrared sauna room & to the back of the swedish sauna wall.

All in all, it looked like the spa facilities in general are sort of forgotten about by the management.

I also booked a 25 min back massage - I arrived at the spa area at 16.00 & there was one massage available for 16.30, which was great as I was in quite a bit of pain. I got to the relaxation room at 16.25 as the receptionist had indicated & waited quite a bit for the therapist to arrive - I looked at the clock when she finally did arrive & the time was 16.35. We headed up to the therapy room & she asked me to strip to my waist & get on to the massage table, which I did very quickly as I only had on my costume & bathrobe. She then took about 5 mins to come back into the room.

The massage itself was good & helped a bit with the neck pain, but as I got back into the changing room I saw the time was 16.55 - so the massage itself must've lasted about 12 or 13 mins or so tops, instead of the 25 mins I paid £45 for. I'll write to the administration to ask for a refund, as I don't think this is right.

All in all, I likely won't have a massage here again nor use the hot tubs as I normally like to avoid infections - the location, the hotel, the breakfast & the grounds are great, but the fact that they'd present the facility as a "spa" & that they would neglect it in such a way makes me question what else in the services/accommodation they offer has...

I booked this hotel specifically for a spa break. I was told at the time of booking that even just to use the spa facilities without treatments had to be booked in advance due to COVID-19 restrictions, which is completely understandable. I booked facilities for the 2 days I was there and additional treatments for one of the days more than 3 weeks in advance. On the first day at the hotel, I called down to the spa to check what I needed to bring only to be told that I couldn't use the facilities as the BBC were filming. I explained that I had booked in advance, that nobody had even bothered to tell me and that I booked my stay specifically for a spa break. I was met with a disingenuous apology and a lack of interest by the spa manager. I understand that mistakes happen, but why should I be out of pocket by booking a stay because of poor communication and disorganisation on the hotels part. I was offered no goodwill or gesture at all.

That evening I went down to ask about WiFi because I was getting no connection. I was told there was a small private event (bearing in mind the hotel was practically empty) and too many people were connected to the WiFi. Again I was given basically a that's not our problem response and that nothing could be done. I explained that I had called ahead of time to enquire about the WiFi because I still had to work during my stay and was told the WiFi connection was stable and sufficient. I was reassured that WiFi would return that night and be back to normal for the duration of my stay. I had also explained the issues I had with the spa and that I wasn't happy. I was offered an insulting £2 off the room charge for having breakfast in the morning in my room for the issues. WiFi was non-existent for the duration of my trip and I overheard others complain about the same.

My room was mostly clean, the area around the fridge and kettle had not been cleaned and was covered in dust.

My actual spa experience was disappointing also. I had booked a facial and body wrap. I had booked the body wrap for the marine mud only to be told that they had run out! The facilities are basic, there was not even a bin in the changing rooms, no cubicles, no shower gel (which I was told there was), was given a bathrobe that was torn, plastic cups scattered in the infrared suite including in the sauna and steam rooms.

Overall, do not recommend this hotel for...
