Jane's Place, Gordon — Hotel in Great Britain

Rustic Bed & Breakfast accommodation, located on Main Street in the village of Gordon, Borders, within easy travelling distance of Kelso, Galashiels, Launder and Duns.|Jane, the owner, offers guests a very warm welcome and is pleasant and courteous yet professional and non intrusive.|She runs the adjoining village shop and is also involved with the public house next door. The bed and breakfast aspect of the business is in its infancy and is 'work in progress' but already there's much to commend.|The guest rooms are situated on the first floor and are large and well equipped.|Worthy of specific praise: the abundance of fresh towels; shared bathroom has a bath and a deluxe shower; second toilet; hot beverage making facilities; flexible breakfast time; free WiFi with strong signal; and comfortable beds. Some rooms have smart TV with Netflix.|A continental breakfast is included in the room rate. It consists of orange juice, tea/coffee, cereals, bread with preserves and excellent scones - freshly baked on the premises several days a week. Jane was kind enough to invite me for dinner on my last night.|I felt comfortable, relaxed and made welcome and, within the price range, Jane's Place offers superb value for money. You can look forward to a warm welcome at Jane's Place. Situated in the centre of the main street, Jane offers basic but comfortable accommodation at a reasonable price. The rooms are on a landing on the first floor and share a well appointed bathroom at one end of the landing corridor. There is a second toilet at the other end. Our room was comforable and warm. TV and Wi-Fi were available in the room, as were tea/coffee with a kettle. Jane allows guests to use her kitchen for food storage and preparation. Parking is on the street but we found no difficulty in getting a slot outside the house. Check in time was 1700hrs (5pm) and checkk out 1100hrs (11am). Got to say that if you are looking for a rustic homely place to stay, then this is the place to stay.|Jane is a great host, always cheery and friendly, and knowledgeable about local attractions. |The rooms are spacious and well equipped, clean and well decorated. There is plenty of fresh towels, extra bedding etc.|Breakfast is continental and very nice.|I would advise taking the option of evening meals, as Jane is an excellent cook, and would suggest asking for the chicken ham and leak pie is home made and the best pie I've tasted in years.|Prices I must say are excellent and frankly underpriced for the standard received.|This is a dog friendly little gem that is the best b&b I've stayed in, in many a...
