We’d come back for Fiona and Cosmin alone! Killiehuntly is a stunning farmhouse and every room is impeccably decorated and furnished. The surrounding grounds are spectacular, vast and calming. The greenhouse was my favourite spot outside of the house to settle in with a tea and a book. What an absolute gem of a Chef Cosmin is; the food was impeccable and beautifully curated and presented at every meal. I love not having to think about picking from a menu and instead having someone showcase their love for the local ingredients—a joy to watch and to chat through the dishes. Fiona is the type of host that makes you evaluate all others as she raised the bar so high for anyone we’ll meet in the future. She is the perfect balance of knowledgeable, kind, friendly and attentive and she made our afternoons and evenings truly special and extra comfortable. For me personally this place is an experience that you can’t rate on the comfort of a bed or the spaciousness of a room alone as it’s so much more than just that. From the people you encounter and the spaces you settle in to the mouth watering smells from the kitchen and the crackling fire this place is a little nook of all things beautiful for the heart and the soul. A little shout out to Lucy, the most gorgeous and sweetest doggo we got to meet with her trusted companion Grant, the activity manager. And a thanks to Fi for looking after us at breakfast and keeping us caffeinated.

Outstanding. It will certainly be hard to top this place. Apologies for the late review, we stayed December 2020. Lorraine, our host, made us feel welcome and at home, and Tom the chef, wow! Tom takes time to consider local ingredients, the best produce was on offer and he cooks everything to perfection. His creativity made us feel like we were the tasting judges on masterchef. Due to the current restrictions were had the whole place to ourselves, what an experience. The house is beautifully decorated, the desired scandi flare, with exceptionally expensive furniture! Every room is cosy and inspiring. The outside yurt sauna is a great experience and a must do. We had great fun out on the mountain bikes. Laura & Co toiletries and candles are lush and we have purchase a few of her things since. The Killiehuntly honey is a must buy, I’m still holding on to the last few teaspoons devastated to see it nearing an end. We can’t wait to return and have already booked for a visit this year. Thank you so much.

A very unique and wonderful place. Met people from all over the world and talked well into the morning hours. Food was amazing. I had a room with a shared bathroom and it turned out to be a non-issue. The sauna in the woods after dinner was an unexpected treat. I described this place as ‘bougie summer camp.’

We spent 4 nights at Killiehuntly and are still talking about how special it was. It’s rare to find a place that feels both like a retreat and a treat — peaceful, thoughtful, and completely welcoming. From the moment we arrived, the service was next-level. Pauline, Matthew, and the entire team were absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and genuinely kind.||The food was incredible — every meal was thoughtful, beautifully prepared, and delicious (and they’re amazing with food allergies too). Matthew somehow made every moment feel memorable, from evening cocktails in the glass house to fireside chats after dinner. Their whiskey knowledge is impressive, and the cocktail selection before dinner is wonderful — a perfect way to unwind.||We also lucked out with an amazing group of fellow guests, and it just added to the overall magic of the experience! ||One of our favorite days was when they gave us a gorgeous cycling route (you can take out bikes or e-bikes) to a nearby loch — they packed us a delicious lunch and we had the most peaceful picnic by the water. Another day, they recommended a hike and again offered to pack lunch for us (absolutely worth it — don’t skip the packed lunches, they’re so good!).||The property itself is stunning — peaceful, remote, and full of character. The conservation walks were a highlight too — it was inspiring to learn about the land and all the meaningful work they’re doing to care for it.||The rooms were gorgeous, the atmosphere was calm and grounding, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words how grateful we are for our time there. We’ve had the privilege of traveling quite a bit, but Killiehuntly is in a league of its own. Thank you, Pauline and Matthew — we’ll...

We stayed for two nights here and really didn’t want to leave! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and looked after. |The other guests were lovely and we really enjoyed sharing our stories over a delicious dinner at the communal dining table. All the food was locally sourced, seasonal and prepared by a talented team with an obvious passion for their craft. |There was a stunning glasshouse where we had candlelit drinks after dinner while gazing up at a clear starry sky. There is a well equipped yoga and wellness studio, an outside sauna, a fire pit and numerous places to sit and relax. The nature walk on our last day was a real highlight - our guide Donnie was very knowledgeable and I came away having learned a lot about the local countryside and the Wildland conservation programme.|The rooms are beautifully decorated in typically unfussy Scandi style. We stayed in Oak, which has a big private bathroom just next door but not ensuite. That would be my only criticism, but it’s pretty minor.||All in all I loved it here and thought the setup, location and service were exceptional. Little touches like the homemade Negroni before dinner, freshly baked biscuits in the afternoon, and lovely lunches wrapped up in brown paper parcels, made the place feel like so much more than a country guest house. This place is a unique rural escape with a difference, and one you...
