I’m pretty dissatisfied and upset writing this review. We checked in late yesterday for a well deserved break with the family - a getaway that we’ve been looking forward too since booking. First impressions were great and this is a beautiful house if the up keep is maintained which it really isn’t. We’ve experienced multiple issues with unclean household linen resulting in having to put on multiple loads with a dryer that stops in between cycles - when getting ready for bed I found hairs belonging to the previous guests most likely and I don’t believe the lodge was thoroughly cleaned in between guests. Smoke alarms are dangling from the ceiling making me question if they actually work and worried for the safety of my family, the floor tiles have holes in them causing a trip hazard, there are cobwebs in each corner of the property as if it’s not been dusted for a while, a fridge that doesn’t cool down properly resulting in having to use the wine fridge to keep things cool. The back garden view is gorgeous some places however the hot tub is located in a dingy part of the garden surrounded by bushes and trees that haven’t been maintained so leaves and twigs as well as bugs are constantly falling into the tub but the host has mentioned in their welcome back that they’ll charge £35 to clean this. As well as this the garden swing is filthy and layered with bugs meaning that we can really make use of this. The carpet is filthy and is due a clean or needs replacing - I’m cautious to walk on this barefoot and need to clean my feet before getting into a bed. Chair cushions are disgusting and dirty with marks everywhere meaning that we can’t really make use of the dining table. This is just a little insight into the issues we’ve faced - we have been here for one night discussing the possibility of staying in a nearby hotel for the duration of our stay as our family have been unable to sleep in such an environment. We have contacted the person whose details we have been given by hoseasons a last named ‘sissy’ who initially on check in was helpful but as soon as we contacted her this morning about some of the issues we’ve experienced wasn’t very forthcoming at all and pretty unprofessional to say the least. Instead of being supportive and helpful in trying to help resolve our issues she has been dismissive about everything. We have paid a lot of money for this getaway but it’s really been a waste of money. Please do not waste your time or your money on booking this place - it does cater for a lot of people and looks gorgeous which can be pretty impressive when looking to host for so many people however there are just pictures but the reality is different. I am looking forward to go home and will try and spend my days until Monday away from the property as much...

Read moreI booked for Ladera retreat lodges through Hoseasons for a family of 4 with two little children. The lodge was deemed to be a luxury lodge with a hot tub. Check in was 4pm and check out very early at 9am. On arriving I received a text message asking for me to bank transfer over £150 before I could get access into the lodge. This was not the easiest as my signal was not the best and I had no WiFi in that location. On getting the keys we then struggled getting into the lodge as the door was broken. It was extremely difficult to open or close. The team was aware of this and were waiting for a new part. In the lodge it was nice, in need of some TLC. Blinds either broken or missing. Cardboard covering a hole in the ceiling that was leaking. The beds had no mattress protector on just a flat sheet. The oven was unusual took a long time to cook food. ||Anyway we made the most of our time. We ate out and were out nearly all day for the 4 days we were there. ||One thing we did use was the hot tub. My boys loved it and were in it every morning and night. Unfortunately on the day we left my 6 year old started with a rash on his back. The following day he then woke up with a widespread rash affecting his whole body. We had to seek urgent medical review and were told he had bacterial folliculitis caused by the hot tub which is commonly caused by pseudomonas from contaminated hot tubs. He was therefore started on antibiotics, piriton, steroid and anti fungal cream and needed regular calpol for the pain. Over the next 12 hours we all developed the same pus filled spots. Though not to the same extent as my 6 year old. ||On contacting Hoseasons and providing evidence via photos etc I was told it was nothing to do with them they are just a third party provider. I have booked with hoseasons for years. You think booking through a well known company you would be protected but no. I have since complained and they and the owner of the lodges are supposed to be doing a review. I am honestly disgusted. This has led to us missing time off work and school and ruined our holiday. We were due to go on another holiday with hoseasons in October and I do not know whether to cancel. They showed no regard and did not even ask after my son. So no I would not recommend. Stay clear...
