WOW what can I say, this is going to be a long review… Always wanted to stay in a pod and this one certainly exceeded all expectations and more. Whoever designed the pod thought it out very well and utilised every space/nook and cranny. We booked the pod with bedding included, it also came with a kettle, toaster, hob, oven, plenty of crockery/cutlery/kitchen utensils (even a tin opener), heater, shelving, table and 5 chairs, sofa, eco-friendly washing up liquid/hand wash, t-towel/towels, hand towel, decking with outside table/chairs, flower pot/flowers and fire pit/tools with log seats to sit out in own area outside pod. They also provided a smart TV plus WiFi which my son was so happy about. Also, pod had its own shower/toilet/sink (a bonus). Pod was clean upon arrival and an easy self-service booking in procedure upon arrival. We stayed in Bare-bones which was in the middle of 3 other pods with plenty of space around, view of the dam/animals that wandered around. It was so peaceful and tranquil. Jo the host was very accommodating and often see her visit pods with logs/fire lighters that guests had purchased (including ourselves). It was lovely lighting the fire and sitting around it on the log stools each evening, catching the sunset/admiring the beautiful views. It is a great base for venturing out to different areas. I certainly recommend a visit/stay and can’t wait to return again...
Read moreWe've stayed in the glamping pods twice now. Both visits were really enjoyable, despite the weather. Pods are well equipped, clean, and cosy. Some accommodate dogs, which is useful although we left our spaniels at home. Cooking was a breeze with two hobs and enough pots and accessories to make pasta or other basic meals. The bathroom was bigger than a caravan and the shower worked nicely. A double bed was comfortable and the sofabed was useful for extra sleeping space when needed. The position looking over the lake was lovely and we were greeted by the bleeding of sheep each morning. The road can be noisy during the day when bikers go past but overall it's peaceful and relaxing. Lots of wildlife to watch, and plenty of nice walks. Langley castle is near, and villages such as Catton and Allendale are a short drive away. Good to see EV charging on site now, so we'll bring our electric car next time. Overall, we had a lovely stay and we'll...
Read moreWe have had an amazing weekend in the Barebones cabin. We took our 11 year old and 1 year old and both of them loved it. There was so much to explore, a little playground and a rope swing which kept both of them happy, not to mention some muddy puddles near the stream for plodding about in wellies. The views of the lake from the front of the cabin were beautiful - each of the 6 cabins are angled so that they feel private but each have a gorgeous view. The photos of the interior of the cabin don’t do it justice - the underfloor heating makes it feel so luxurious! We loved the fire pit and Jo organised our firewood kit in advance so that it was there ready for us when we arrived. All communication was quick and easy. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are already planning another trip back in the summer holidays with our wider family....
