I've been here twice for lunch and enjoyed it. It's very posh, but in a friendly classic British upper class kind of way, not in a snooty way at all. The food is very nice and not expensive. If you can come in the summer the rose garden is perfect to sit in. The village has one other pub and and an interesting church to look at but not much else. The surrounding Moors are the best in the country if heather moorland is your thing. I would love to come back and stay here sometime.

I dined at the restaurant and had coffee on the terrace, which gives on to the garden. The hotel and grounds are absolutely lovely and the service was fantastic. However, the food was really subpar, price notwithstanding. I’d visit again but only to have sandwiches or afternoon tea on the terrace.

After travelling 1.5 hours for Afternoon Tea, I must say it’s the worst we have ever had . We didn’t even have a table !, a member of staff pulled a nest of tables out and put the tray and coffee on them . A complete waste of money .

Afternoon Tea at Lastingham Grange yesterday was superb. A selection of sandwiches, mini sausages rolls, warm scones with delicious strawberry jam and cream, blackcurrant mousse with meringue garnish, profiteroles and cupcakes. Our daughter requires gluten free and declared all items in her afternoon tea to be delicious and fresh, even the bread in the sandwiches! There were three of us, all with different tea requirements of green tea, camomile tea (leaves, not teabags) and "regular" tea which was properly served with extra hot water and offers of more if required. Everything was freshly prepared by chef and served by two friendly, efficient waitresses. This was our second time partaking of afternoon tea at Lastingham Grange, both times we have found to be a delightful experience. There is a calm elegance here which is quite rare these days and very much appreciated. Whenever fresh fare is involved it is important to book in advance, this is not McDonalds, nor would we...

We booked afternoon tea only the day before and I was surprised when we managed to get booked in. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by reception and they confirmed our booking. We were then shown through and given the option of the lounge or the terrace. As it had finally stopped raining first time all day we opted for the terrace.

We were given plenty of time to decide what afternoon tea we wanted from the vast selection and it was soon served at the table all except the scones which were in the oven and were soon brought out afterwards.

The quality of the food and the service was excellent we offered more tea on at least 2 occasions which in my mind is great.

Overall very pleased with the whole package and as it was also my wife’s birthday today I earned some...

Had an afternoon tea here I have to say I've had better this was bought as a wedding gift The service was fine we were welcomed in and told where to go which was like a lounge with old fashioned furniture was like travelling back in time. You could sit outside but we chose inside as it wasn't the warmest of days didn't have to wait long then it came there were an assortment of sandwiches and cakes pot of tea and pot of hot water. The salmon sandwiches were raw salmon which isn't for me the ham ones were fine the cakes were OK but not amazing and I didn't care for the scones at all! Now as I say this was a gift so I am assuming that the couple that gave us this loved it there so maybe we were just unfortunate but I will be sticking to marks and Spencer for there...
