My partner and I stayed here for three days in November 2012, in one of their woodland cabins. I have family who have stayed here previously so I was familiar with the accommodation and knew it to be of a high standard. The cabins are beautiful, well decorated and have a fantastic wood fire in the center which was great to curl up next to in the evenings. The cabins themselves are 5 minutes walk from the shoreline of Loch Tay, and depending on which cabin you get they have good views towards the loch or towards Ben Lawers. The leather couches are very comfortable, and the kitchen is sufficient for two people but you will likely need more utensils and larger pots / pans for more than two. The electric shower is excellent.

I have two main complaints about the cabins, however. Firstly, the bedroom comes equipped with twin bed frames that have very uncomfortable mattresses. Pillows are provided, but duvets and linen is not. It seemed preferable to sleep on the couches to the beds, the mattresses were that bad. Secondly, electricity is not included with the rental of the cabin and the rates are extortionate, and policed by a highly irritating electricity metering system. In the three days we stayed in the cabin we left the electric heating off and used the shower sparingly (perhaps 30 minutes total over the three days). All the lights are energy saving bulbs, and yet we required £10 of electricity cards to get through the three days. When the meter drops to £1 of credit left, it beeps repeatedly until you feed it, even at 3am in the morning, we discovered.

We had been pre-warned that we would require additional wood for the fire and it would be cheaper to buy it off-site, which we did. You will also need to bring your own accessories for washing dishes, as we discovered none were provided.

The staff were not particularly friendly whenever we interacted with them. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but advise you to be wary of all the incidental expenses that were not drawn to our attention...

My wife and I found ourselves in the Scottish Highlands with a few days to explore before the wedding of a family friend. We found Loch Tay Highland Lodges & Glamping Park via Google search and decided to give their reasonably priced and rustic accommodations a visit during the few days before the wedding. As promised, the site offered clean yet rustic cabins and fantastic views of the surrounding Munro's and Loch Tay. We travelled from America and were unable to pack many of the camping necessities, i.e. sleeping bags and towels, which the front office staff were happy to provide for a small fee. Common areas and shared bathroom spaces were acceptably clean for a space that caters to outdoorsy folk. Most notably, the shower water temperature was super hot and was welcome after a wet/cold hike up nearby Ben Lawes. Potable water was available from spigots across the site. Our cabin was up the hill, leaving a short walk down to the Loch-side for dinner and drinks at the Boathouse Kitchen and Bar. The dining was great, but requires a reservation on weekend nights as it's one of a few options near Killin that offers true waterfront dining. Staff was friendly and helpful and very apologetic when we were unable to seat us due to prior reservations. We also enjoyed the 2mi hiking loop owned by the park, accessible directly across the road from the camp entrance. After a long drive from Edinburgh, we were ready to stretch our legs, gain a little altitude, and take in late afternoon Loch views from the short loop. With lots of stops to check out local flora and fauna and to take in the views, we completed the loop in about 1h of slow walking. Overall, we had a fantastic time at the LTHLGP and will certainly stay again if we ever find ourselves on...

I can give only 3 stars and i will explain why ! Place is very good and beautiful next to the lake and workers is very helpful what was really great ! Problems starting in small houses what they giving ! When i come i get some mini Hobbit house i was pretty surprised for that because i expected caravan - when i book holidays there was nothing sayed about Hobbit house because was sayed caravan ! But ok i was tired after long way and really that Hobbit house was not so bad till 2nd day ! In 2nd day night was very cold and me with my missis fully enjoy with it all night because we shaking inside like some rabbits and shaking from cold ! We try to sleep in our sleep bag because they don't give nothing for bed BUT wind from wholes was too strong and blow straight to face ! I really can't understand how they can give building with so massive wholes for someone in cold !!! Next day i call them to give some another option or sort it out somehow and that helps - lady from reception give another building and all next days what i was there was good in warm small building ! I got good lesson for future in that place - never don't pay for something if have shared shower !!! If you pay for shared shower be ready to see selfish bastards who can leave opened doors in that time when you take shower and that means you will get all cold from outside ! About restaurant - when i come was pretty busy and was needed pre order table what sounds pretty stupid when it's inside lodges area but guy who works there was very kind and find table for us in really good place ! Food was really good and all atmosphere as well !

DON'T FORGET TO TAKE SLEEP BAG...

Fantastic Hogmany 2023 winter wonderland experience. Saw the new year in and could not have asked for a more special, atmospheric, scenic experience. The view in the morning over the Loch was worth the price of admission on its own. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed with tonnes of space to chill out. We had 6 families spread over the main house, two lodges and a pod for the kids. Hight of winter with snow on on the ground. All cosy including the pod. Boys said it was too hot! Comfy beds. Everything clean on arrival. Hot tubs running main house and a lodge. Though the main house tub took two days to get up to heat, switch it on as soon as you arrive! Could do with more tumblers and glasses at all the lodges, especially If you are celebrating with friends. Plenty of toilets. Boiler room always warm to dry wet clothes in the big house. Good parking at all locations. If it's icy watch the access road, it's steep! Layout of all the locations try to give you as much privacy as possible. Loads of choices for accommodation from canvas geode domes up to the full 10 bed main lodge we stayed in. Did not try bar/resteraunt though the set up looked inviting. Would certainly go back for a visit in the Summer to take advantage of the activities. The local walks and hiking possibilities must be amazing.
