Stayed here one night en route to Aberdeenshire. It is a large house thoughtfully divided up into several en-suite bedrooms with downstairs a kitchen and lounge/dining area. We stayed for one night in one of the bedrooms and were delighted when the owner (Alexandra) said we could use all the downstairs facilities. So we went to nearby Crieff and bought an Italian take away and brought it back to eat in the lounge/diner. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and effort into this place as everything was immaculate and well designed. Even provide games and books for you to use in the downstairs area. It was not particularly busy when we were there and there was ample parking at the premises, just be mindful of leaving room for other guests to move their cars. No cooked breakfast is served but cereals, muesli and milk are provided as well as tea/coffee making facilities. The area is superb being close to all the facilities available in nearby Crieff. We played golf at Comrie which is about 20 minutes away although there are many other golf courses in the area. A good nights sleep is guaranteed due to the tranquil location and the comfortable beds. Don’t use your sat nav but follow the directions given when you book. Excellent host who explained to us the way in which this house and other cottages on the estate have...
Read moreWhat can we say, we had a wonderful time at the millhouse. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed. The sound of the river mixed with bird song was a delight as was the owner of the millhouse Alexandra. She has done an amazing job renovating the millhouse, she was so hospitable, kind and made us feel very welcome. as it was our anniversary Alexandra took the time to pick us some wild flowers and made some delicious home made brownies (for a very small cost). My wife loved it. Its the small things that count. Bed was so comfy we were tempted to take it in the car home with us. Breakfast was delicious and a nice change from the usual, all freshly baked breads and pastries. We will be back to...
Read moreWe stayed in the Mill House at Monzie and loved every minute of it. The house is beautifully appointed but not in a fussy way - it's also totally comfortable. A perfect home away from home. The kitchen is fully stocked with proper cookware and utensils, so you can actually make meals there (unlike some self-catering spots with crummy pots and dull knives). The rooms are arranged hotel-style with en suite bathrooms and tea/coffee service in each room so everyone can linger in their rooms as long as they wish in the morning. The location is lovely and convenient to lots of great hikes and historic sites. It'll be top of our list if we ever come...
