This is the second time we have stayed here and it was just as fantastic as the first. Came back with a group of four of us again, this time in October. Lovely clean cabins with everything that we could require. Bread, cake and all the amenities. The hosts make everything so perfect and provide info on any questions you might have so that you do not even need to speak with them. But not in a negative way but in the way that you can just arrive and enjoy your break and leave like It’s your own personal cabin in the middle of nowhere. Little things like the bird feeders outside your lodge are replenished daily so you can enjoy all the wildlife going about their day. The hot tubs are just bliss to jump in and relax. The wood burning fires in the lodge just make it perfect and homely. We hired the fishing rods to try a bit of fishing. They provide the rods all set up and with food for the fish. It’s quite hard for the novice but we did manage to catch a few. I have recommended this getaway to many of my friends that have also enjoyed themselves equally. There is no WiFi and no signal for phones in the cabins, this is bliss in one way but can be a worry if you need to be contacted in another but overall I think it helps make your stay more tranquil. You can get WiFi at the entrance/reception should you need to. We love this place because you can just check yourself into an escape off the path and real world. I do not normally do reviews but sometimes when you read them you need to see that it’s not made up....
Read moreWhere do I start?! What’s not to like?! A log cabin in the middle of nowhere with everything that you could possibly want. Bread, cake & milk on arrival was a lovely touch & everything you needed to relax, unwind & forget about the outside world. Comfy bed, sunken jet bathtub, open log fire (just wish it was cold enough to properly enjoy it as we got a bit warm but felt we had to use it!) We had a private hot tub & had the bonus of a sauna in our cabin which we didn’t know about until we got there! My boyfriend loved the choices of lakes to fish in. I even joined him & I don’t do fishing but to just sit & watch & enjoy the peace & quiet & the sun when it came out which was a little bonus as most of time it rained but even that didn’t dampen the mood (pardon the pun!!) The only downside was we didn’t stay for long enough. We both said as we left that we could very easily stay there for the whole week. Even the lack of mobile signal & no Wi-Fi didn’t put us off as it meant we didn’t have our heads stuck in our phones which we seem to do a lot of lately! Would highly recommend if you want to get away from the hectic day to to day life. We will be back next year. Thanks for making some wonderful...
