What can I say about the wonderful fantastic staff at the Premier Inn in Thornbury. When I booked, I informed them that we are newlyweds, genuinely got married the day before our stay. I rang them and mentioned this casually, hoping they'd leave us maybe a card in the room. But, the amazing staff at the Premier Inn took that information, ran with it and re wrote the expressive "bridal suite". When myself and my new husband opened our room we were blown away and I was immediately in tears. Fairy lights, wine, the MOST AMAZING towel swans shaped into a heart that we have ever seen, rose petals, a handwritten card, box of shortbread biscuits, and honestly, so so much more amazing wedding memorabilia I've ever witnessed. We weren't expecting such a display of love and genuine happiness from a team who are incredibly busy running the lovely hotel. Our actual bridal suite at our wedding venue was no where (absolutely nowhere!!!!) as beautifully laid out with this amount of effort from the Premier Inn staff. The biggest and blessed thankyou to all involved! We weren't expecting this and are genuinely blown away. Thankyou to all the staff but a huge personal thankyou to Tracey and Sally. You both are rock stars. I genuinely hope you get to experience the happiness you've given my new husband and I. I would encourage everyone to stay here. The room and the bed us beautiful, beautiful, the BEST sleep and the comfiest bed. Bathroom is lovely and shower was perfect! Absolutely choosing this hotel again in the future.

First the good news, there is a lady on reception, who is this hotel’s greatest asset. For the rest - diabolical. I was given the smallest double room that I have ever seen. There was a splat mark on the wall with run marks leading down from it. Food, drink or bodily fluids, who knows? The walls were otherwise filthy. The veneer from the whole length of the vanity unit had peeled, it was still there, just not attached. There was an airco controller on the wall, which was presumably how the room temperature was once controlled. The rooms are now heated with mobile, oil filled radiators and cooled by opening windows. So, open a window, and then try sleeping. If you could sleep through WWIII, you’ll be OK. Meanwhile, that airco controller seems to have been removed from the cleaning schedule from the point that it became redundant. It appears that was a long time ago. I asked to be moved and the second room was better but still derelict in comparison to what one might reasonably expect. I encountered a male member of staff at an internal security door. He approached from the side whereby he could have opened the door with the handle. On my side a key card was required. He watched through the viewing pane as I fished for my card and ultimately opened the door. Once opened, he barged directly at me. Service at its best. Breakfast was the final treat. Rubber egg, dry cooked mushrooms, deep fried black pudding. All you can eat for £10.99. I ate about 50p of that.

Cracking Premier Inn stayed here a couple of times I find it the best priced Premier Inn in the Bristol area. By far the best too great location to the motorway, 20 mins in to Bristol. We stayed here two nights, can't comment on food as we where visiting family in Bristol. Rooms are fab, light and airy we've always had the family rooms with balcony this time we where on the ground floor. Kids loved being able to run around the field and climb trees. The room photos where taken just before we left. Only slight criticism was the fact I had to request more milk and sugars as we where staying two nights there hadn't been enough left in the room. Still worth all the 5 star rating though I'm sure we'll be back again.

Delightful hotel, brilliant staff but non functioning air conditioning, one of the nicest locations for a Premier Inn I've personally encountered, rooms overlooking the village cricket pitch, the downstairs family room we occupied was a decent size but a bit of a squeeze for four, the bathroom was however very small, I'm sure that some of the other family rooms however are larger, the bed was decent but not as good as our Sealy bed at home (which is superb), the fourth bed occupied by one of my sons was a camp bed which he found uncomfortable. The major bugbear which is why the hotel lost a star is the non functioning air conditioning, it was terribly warm in the room but the air conditioning when switched on functioned for three minutes then switched off so was as much use as a chocolate fireguard, this meant that the night even with windows open was disturbed. The staff were outstanding, extra pillows were delivered promptly and extra coffee sachets and milk were easily obtained, the breakfast served in the attached pub was standard Premier Inn but the greeting was cheerful and all the breakfast items were nicely cooked, the only slight negative was that breakfast was served from 7.00 to 9.00 so times were not so flexible as some of the other Premier Inns we have stopped at, I would overall recommend it wholeheartedly if you can find a way to sort out the air...
