I recently stayed at Premier Inn and would like to share my experience.
Starting with the positives, the room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean—exactly what you’d hope for in a hotel stay. The housekeeping and room facilities met my expectations and made for a restful night.
However, the breakfast experience was quite disappointing. There was a clear lack of organization among the staff, particularly in how tables were allocated, leading to confusion and unnecessary delays.
A particularly troubling incident occurred at the breakfast counter. As I was about to serve myself some beans, the chef abruptly took the serving spoon from my hand without any explanation or apology. A staff member later mentioned that he needed to refill the tray, although it already appeared full. I stepped away to the drink station and noticed another guest—possibly of Indian descent—approach the food area, only to have the same chef throw serving spoons toward him. It was a shocking display of either poor customer service or, more concerning, discriminatory behavior.
Later, I observed the same staff member cleaning chairs with her bare hands, which raises hygiene concerns—especially in a dining area.
I sincerely hope Premier Inn takes this feedback seriously and invests in better training for its breakfast staff. A welcoming and respectful environment is essential, and I believe there’s room for significant improvement...
Read moreWe went for a family weekend away and we found the hotel to be very family friendly. The two rooms were spacious, one was a family room and the other was a twin room. The rooms were clean, as was the bathroom. There were plenty of spare towels, and extra pillows were available in the room.
We paid for the cooked breakfast and got the kids breakfasts free. The breakfast selection was good and was yummy, the kids especially enjoyed that it was unlimited.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable and soft.
The only downside to this hotel is that the rooms don't have air conditioning! We stayed at the beginning of July and found that the rooms were very hot and it made it difficult to sleep at night, it was uncomfortably hot. The staff tried to help by providing an additional fan (there is already a fan in each room), this helped a little, but it was still pretty warm.
We found that there was plenty to do with the kids nearby in Linlithgow and Livingston; we attended a jousting festival at Linlithgow Palace, and took the kids to Innoflate.
Overall I would highly...
