Sometimes there are red flags which we just donāt notice and one of those is the utter insistence of the owner, Breock, to carry out absolutely all conversations by phone, refusing to commit to anything in writing. This was certainly the case when I unfortunately had to cancel a two night booking due to the cancellation of the wedding we were due to attend. ||After berating me for my ridiculous choice of booking through a third party agent (which she pays to promote her business and take bookings on her behalfā¦) she reluctantly agreed that if she was able to re-let the property she would refund the cost. I was perfectly happy with this as there was still a month to go and it was the end of June so perfect timing for anyone able to take a summer holiday in term time. Subsequently, I checked the availability on a daily basis and was delighted to finally see that it had indeed been booked and was no longer available on those dates, so I contacted Breock to confirm the details for my refund. I was disappointed and angry yet not particularly surprised when she flatly denied that the property had been rebooked even though I could clearly see on the website that it had been, and had sent her screenshots to prove it. Despite the obvious evidence she refused to discuss it any further, claiming that I had no idea what I was talking about and that the website must be suffering a glitch of some sort . ||There then followed several days of phone calls and voicemails from Breock begging me to call her, offering to āhelpā me and even finally offering a refund but when I asked her to email me with her comments, she ceased all contact and Iāve heard nothing since. ||Looking (too late) at the Google reviews I can see this is a recurring issue at Rame Barton. I believe in keeping my word no matter what and personally would never allow my integrity to be compromised - certainly not for the sake of a few hundred pounds. So just be aware of how things work here and if you book, take out travel insurance even just for a short stay - itāll save you a massive headache as well as your hard...
Read moreWe have just come back from a short tour of Cornwall and Rame Barton was the last two nights. We stayed in a one bedroom self catering apartment. Beautiful rooms and lovely grounds. House martins are nesting at the moment and its great to see them swooping round the gardens and going back to their nests. Lovely décor throughout the house and the room. Breock was so welcoming when we arrived and made some wonderful sweet treats for us. Cawsand and Kingsand are a lovely location for walks, as a base and are lovely quaint old fishing villages. Some great places for eating and drinking. Can't recommend Rame Barton or the location...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a lovely venue, gorgeous setting, we had a 2 bedroom apartment that had a sitting room and kitchen. Clean, tidy and has lovely views. We stayed as we were attending a wedding a few minutes away so location was perfect. Unfortunately there was no hot water for the entire stay, staff assured us this would be fixed but it wasn't. Had to have cold showers the morning of the wedding & no shower the following day as I just couldn't bring myself to do it. We were promised a follow up message which never came. This is the only reason for reducing...
