I only called in for a liquid lunch while the rest of our coach party 🥳 🎉 had lunch in nearby Aberfoyle. I walked 0.8 miles each way to reach The Rob Roy and get back to the coach in 50 minutes. It only seemed right ✅ to pay a call as I had stayed there some years ago. THAT TIME I walked from Kilmahog to the hotel (over a part of The Menteith Hills and by Loch Venachar) covering a distance of around 9 miles in 6 hours. The lift over the final part of that trek got me to the hotel door so I was only about 10 minutes late for the start of dinner 🍽. Well worth a visit, but in a more relaxed way. The recent walk was by a stream that runs behind the hotel. The choice of lunch was easy. I had been on a minibus tour to that distillery only two days earlier. This time I saw "an old friend" at Kilmahog. An older photo suggested that he was scratching my back.

Stayed here for a coach trip for 5 days. I came in the winter so the coach trip was really cheap and I was very surprised with what I got for my money. Full bar with selection of drinks and live entertainment every night. Food was breakfast buffet hot and cold. Evening meal was different every night with a menu to choose from. There was plenty of different dishes to choose from and all good was lovely and well presented. Wi-Fi is in the main lobby/bar only but is a good speed and reliable. Large car park and the next village is 1 mile away but there is a footpath at the back of the hotel leading straight there. Perfect hotel for a nice low price and I couldn't fault the place.

I'll start with "you get what you pay for" and with the Rob Roy that's certainly true. As far as value for money, it's about right. Rooms and buildings are old and all the floors creak. Our toilet seat didn't stay up and the shower is dreadfully small. Multiple lights didn't work in the room. Wifi was weak and extremely slow to the point of not being useful at all. At least the bed was acceptable. Breakfast was "ok". I've never had crunchy scrambled eggs before. Our need was a night in this area and the price wasn't bad so we took a shot. At under US$100 with breakfast it met the mark but if I knew what I know now I probably would've kept looking.

Stayed here a while ago for a long weekend. The room I was in the mirror where the dressing table is is Cracked, so that needs to be fixed in case someone cuts themselves on it||The TV turns itself on of it's own accord, (and my room wasn't the only room where it did that), it woke me up in the middle of the night and scared the crap out of me, and also during the day while I was out, so it clearly had been on most of the day, had to keep turning it off at the mains. So clearly that needs to be fixed in several of the rooms.||Bedroom mattresses are rather hard. The Shower Door Squeaked constantly and never closed properly, so clearly that needs to be fixed also. I ended up (for my own safety) as I have 2 disabilities having to wash myself over the sink, for fear of falling out of the shower and injurying myself.||The Hotel in General needs a Major Makeover.||I also Emailed on Several Occasions before going over there and some of my E-mails were not responded to.||The Manager was very impatient with the Customers and insisted that everything be done in a rush. And quite Abrupt also with the Customers.||You go on Holiday to relax and chill out from the stresses of everyday life and then you're met with a Manager of a Hotel like that, not good customer friendly service in the slightest, it's like being back in work and your boss giving off to you. No kind of any relaxation at all there.||My Parents were equally in the same opinions as myself, plus they were not impressed by the fact that the bedrooms weren't cleaned on a daily basis. My mother especially found that to be very unhygienic.||The place might be ok for some people, but (especially speaking from a disabled persons point of view) I wouldn't go back there again. And also speaking of behalf of my parents (especially my Father who is in his 80s) he also found it to be very unsafe from an old persons perspective, you could easily trip and fall causing yourself injuries.||Like I said earlier, this Hotel needs a Major Makeover. Not good from multiple points of view. I wouldn't go back...

It's not the first time that I have been to this hotel. In fact in 2014 and 2016 - I went to this hotel on a couple of coach holidays in those two years. I am - in fact and truth - gearing up to go to the Rob Roy Hotel for a third time. And very much looking forward to it.

It's about 2 miles from the peaceful Scottish Town of Aberfoyle and very much looking forward to that return to there for the third time in several years. But this coming holiday is in June of this year and marks the 40th year of my first going on Coaching holidays since this time of year in 1982. It will also be - my 52nd coaching holiday as well.

I'm generally looking forward to a wonderful time and catching old sites - some of which are likely to provoke a happy if sad reaction. My late mother loved going to Scotland as much as I do - today! Part of me is going to miss her as well! Her last holiday was in 1985 and sadly she passed away only a couple of years later. Nonetheless I am looking forward to this holiday and refreshing my acquaintance with the Rob Roy Hotel.

Just one cautionary note to the entertainer. I heard of the mischief perpetrated in 2015. I hope that there's no repetition or otherwise, the other half of the entertainer will probably throw his dinner at him! I heard that story of this, in 2016.

This hotel at the time. Was well appointed and ideally located to visit the Trossachs region of Scotland. I'll be happy to recommend it. Today and in the future, to anyone on coach or other breaks. On the strength of the two previous stays I would say a full 5 out of 5. By outcome of that.

Will ye no' come back again! I think that I have answered that in the...

Fantastic wee hotel. very reasonably priced and excellent service. booked a night away for valentines day and it was much cheaper than any other hotel in the area and cheaper than most B&Bs especially considering it was valentines day where most places bump up the prices just coz the time of the year. they regularly have tribute bands or acts playing but sadly I missed them this time but will definitely be booking another break to see what they are like. The room was quite big and the bed was extremely comfy. the ensuite was spotless and a good size. I was expecting a geating issue due to the size of the room and time of year but as the e tire hotel was really cozy I even had to turn the radiator down to its lowest setting. Breakfast was included in the price so wasnt expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. it was buffet style and all you can eat plus the selection of hot and cold options was quite impressive and very very tastey. Although dinner wasnt included in my price you can have dinner option included or pay when you get there. I decided to just have 1 course ( steak and ale pie )which wasnt that expensive and it was one of the best steak and ale pies I've ever had. the staff and service was second to none and everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely be going back and this time for more than just 1 night as the longer toy stay the better value it is. cant emphasize enough how good this hotel is and would give it a higher...
