What a wonderful place to stay. Right on a main road which you don't really hear during the day and definitely don't hear at night. I booked and stayed in a self contained cabin for two nights. A wonderful veranda to sit and have your morning or evening meals, looking out over the gardens. Amenities within the cabin are well thought out, with a microwave, kettle, TV, fridge and everything you'd need for basic survival. With a massive tesco's, ten minutes down the road in Market Weighton, a McDonald's 200yrds away, even a carwash and an Indian restaurant in Shiptonthorpe, everything is on your doorstep, for a business trip away from home. I had to be in Hull for business reasons the following day but needed to see my client the night before. I discovered this place entirely by chance and was enchanted by it. I had what was in effect a small self contained cottage. There was a shared kitchen and lounge in another cottage a few yards away but there was no need to use it as my rooms had all I needed. The full English was amongst the best I have had. I was on my motorcycle and was accommodated with sheltered parking. I would certainly use this place again. This is a very special place. We stayed in Thyme Cottage - it is a large family space with so much room & with a lot outside spaces & fabulous views. I have called it special because of those but also for the little additional touches - blankets so you can cozy up on the sofas, little bottle of milk when you arrive & cafetière coffee. Oh, and they provide dog towels!! From the suggested pubs we went to the Hotham Arms - great food, friendly staff, & lovely place.
