Armley Lodge Farm Caravan and Motorhome Club Certified Location is located on the Hambleton Peninsular, close to the banks of Rutland Water and is part of a working farm. A great location for cycling and walking around Rutland Water and is close to the nearby town of Oakham. Great views over the reservoir. Good TV reception and 4G. 16 amp hook ups. No on site toilets or showers. Care needed on approach through Hambleton village as roads are narrow and can be busy at popular times. Friendly and helpful owners. I can thoroughly recommend to all.

It is basic farm camping with hot water and nice showers. Lovely owners and perfect for fishing Rutland Water.

Stayed over bank holiday weekend - overall recommendation is to avoid this site when it is likely to be busy. The site was solely interested in letting as many people stay to take as much money as possible. There were too many people on site - resulting in no showers at times i.e. ran out of water. Before the water ran out the showers were freezing cold. There was a lack of toilet roll (rolls provided early morning and late in the evening but used or stolen through the day because of too many people). The lack of taking your car onto the site was frustrating, especially in poor weather which meant all the gear getting wet and a scarcity of wheel barrows to help - not helped by an over subscribed site. Being asked to move your car and put your fire out at certain times was also annoying, it would not be necessary if the site restricted its numbers. This site is not eco-friendly it is just a bit grubby and lacking in effort to make your stay fulfilling, other sites do this much better. Overall this ended up with many people cutting their stay short. I would recommend avoiding this site when it is...

I'll leave a 2 part review because I had a mixed experience; the site is fine, facilities are basic but well kept and the people who run it are nice. I plan on going back next year.

The part that I didn't like was all the inconsiderate bastards who showed up. The site was extremely crowded thanks to dick bags taking up 5 pitches with their event shelter, excessively loud music and talking (thanks guy who had a phone conversation at 11:45 on speakerphone), townies who can't light fires, covering the site in acrid smoke from their self lighting BBQ.

I could go on, site owner told me in the morning that people were taking the piss so I'll be going back when these shithawks...
