Stayed here for 4 nights in our touring caravan. As seen from my other reviews, we’re not avid ParkDean fans having had some poor experiences at others, but we were looking for a cheap break away just prior to our main holiday and this fit the bill. Started on a bit of a negative - our allocated pitch was dirty, sweets and food (chicken bones, BBQ remnants etc) strewn all over, a fatty frying pan thrown in the partition hedge and broken phone charger cables thrown about, so we just moved onto the next pitch which was much better. Pitches were large enough separated by hedges, although the pitch behind you is only partitioned by an open fence and you can be quite close the outfit behind depending on how much you back up. We have a 27ft long ā€˜van so we used the full length. We didn’t book a serviced pitch as they were a ridiculous Ā£100 more expensive but we found each pitch had individual water points and a drainage point at the bollard, so my advice would be don’t pay extra as they all seem to be serviced. The touring road network is one way and pretty narrow with fairly tight bends. We were towing a 27ft long 8ft wide twin axle caravan and ended up dragging across the grass a few times, particularly when pitches were occupied by tents and camper vans with their added parked cars. It was fairly quiet when we stayed which was nice. The touring area is set about the fishing pool, with a number of pitches backing onto the pool. Very pleasant indeed. The complex itself is as you’d expect for a cheap holiday park, as we normally visit Haven parks, I would say the facilities are about where Haven were 10 years ago. A little sprucing up needed in places, occasionally a bit dark and drab but not enough to detract from your holiday. The quality of the evening entertainment was on a par with Haven. Along side the touring was a lovely wooded dog walk area well maintained, along with a well maintained large play park. Lots of activities for the kids to do at a decent price, although you’ll need to book ahead. The swimming pool was warm and clean, and sessions were well organised. All the staff we encountered were happy and pleasant. A few things we’ve noticed regards ParkDean versus Haven is that there’s no site entry security barrier. All and sundry are able to enter the park at any time and there’s no ā€œI should be hereā€ plate for the car like at other sites, so any car can come and go without being challenged. The touring area doesn’t seem to have its own warden which is to its detriment, as it’s not really ā€œlookedā€ after on its own. Nobody meets you on arrival. Pitches are clearly not inspected as demonstrated by the cleanliness of our initial allocated pitch. It took a number of days before the previous pitch was attended to, and then it was only because the grass was being mown. None of the pitches were actually inspected or cleaned after someone departed whilst we were there. No one comes around checking everything is ok from time to time either - we moved pitches without asking and we never displayed the pitch tag in the window either and no one noticed. At other sites this would have been frowned upon and we would have been told to display the tag. However, despite these initial troubles, we had a very pleasant stay. We didn’t think we’d say it after our previous ParkDean experiences, however, this one at Skipsea Sands was above expectation and we would return, particularly to the fishing pool pitches.

Fit for purpose caravan holiday for 7 people. Location... Nothing walkable other than the clubhouse. Approx £6 a pint depending on what you like Soft drinks large coke £4 Use Tesco's in Hornsea a 10 min drive away. Or the camp shop it's still cheaper. Camp WiFi is terrible(receptionist warned me), the free (creat account) won't allow streaming to force you on to the paid service (£30 for 10 devices/week). Still uses the same signal. So if you have bad signal in your caravan tough luck. Entertainment is ok didn't do an evening session as drinks cost too much and people are queuing up before opening to secure a table. Kids club stuff is ok. Wrestling in this instance. For a kids club activity the volume was still a bit too loud so child asked to leave. Playground was fine and tidy enough. Their onsite soft play is close for a health and safety issue so that was a shame. Service was good their was a few caravan damages on arrival. Reported and sorted out with no charges. Only annoyance was the gate and door obstructs each other (see photo) resulting in an air lock like exit and entrance if caravan door is open (which it was due to lack of air conditioning) as this is a build issue (under warranty) the maintenance team wouldn't touch it. However everything else was sorted. Warning as the beach next to the camp is suffering from coastal erosion. access to beach is difficult and not signposted. To that end children shouldn't be allowed to Go near the edge (10-15ft drop) Otherwise nice holiday with in-laws for a week with no fatalities........ I'd say that was a success.

Im a new owner at skipsea sands after visiting and staying on site. I would just like to take the time to say the staff here are amazing! Full of moral and spirit. I went to an amazing event that was put on outside the boathouse pub/club here on saturday 28th June. Iv got to know quite a few of the staff already and i would just like to give credit where it is very much due. There are two staff members that are behind the bar at the boathouse pub/club and they are a 100% credit to the parkdean brand. They are full of holiday spirit and are so funny and make customers feel welcome, appreciated and make you feel that they are giving a personalised service. And of course give you a very warm welcome. I have looked at there name badges and they are Sammie and Annabel. I can really see team spirit and it is so very much refreshing to see. To anyone that wants a holiday or wants to buy a holiday home and feels that as a customer other holiday parks has no feeling or a personal touch, i would highly recommend Skipsea Sands and the staff that represent it, i did allot of research before purchasing a caravan for cash. Anyone considering a personal touch , a holiday home you will not be dissapointed by the site or the staff that represent it. Well done skipsea sands and especially Sammie and Annabel that makes a difference to peoples holidays and the people that have decided to purchase from Parkdean. Thank you soooo muchā¤ļø Sometimes the people that are at the foundation of the company are the people that create the image and make a difference to peoples lives.

Liked: usually every think ok when booked by u

Disliked: I have just returned from Skipsea sand after 5 night there was an incident whilst on site where damage was done to my caravan I'm sorry to hear this Ian. Was this raised while you there? yes security was called it happened on the 13th May between the hours of 1.30-2.30am, drunken couple outside caravan she smashed into the caravan 3 times as he hit her

What happened once security was called?

They escorted them back to pitch 31, security told me to take pics of caravan damage and go reception on that morning, she had dropped her phone outside the caravan went to reception on that morning handed phone over and showed pics, reception told me to contact police for damage, how can i contact them as was no longer on site at 9.00am

That was where her phone was directly under vent were she smashed into caravan 3 times

I am a regular customer of parkdean and find it unacceptable whilst on your site

I can raise it to our customer relations team and they would look into the complaint and also the other party but what gets said to that party you would have no involment with for data protection. Of course you have spoken to park who has also advised to raise it with the police for damage.

Yes as i said cannot raise issue with police as they had left site and only had bank card details of her name when handed it to reception Yes but the police can find out that informaiton. i stayed in caravan until they were escorted away

Please raise to your customer relations team and look into the complaint and also the other party and contact me once investigated by email or phone Please be assured your concerns have now been raised to the relevant management teams including the Customer Relations Team and the General Manager at Skipsea Sands Holiday Park.

Legally, due to data protection we are unable to disclose confidential information about our employees or disclose what action has been taken by us. However, please be assured that we will review your comments and taken any action where required.

Once again, please accept our apologies that this has been your experience whilst staying with us.

Any claim you wish to make regarding the damages to your caravan will need to be raised by yourself to the police and your insurance company* Did I cover all your questions today, or is there anything else I can assist you with? 😊

No thanks a good will gesture of payment off my next booking wouldn't go a miss as this was unacceptable and a very frightening experience I understand Ian, however as this incident was out of our control and not something the company had caused, we would unfortunately not be looking at offering any goodwill on this occasion. ok

Thank you for getting in touch with us today, you will now be directed to a short 5 question survey and when looking at the survey question 2 would just be about myself, I would appreciate a 5 as its marked the highest šŸ˜‰, if I could ask you to complete this, I would be most appreciative. I would really appreciate if you could give me a 5 šŸ™‚ Jordan E has closed the chat. Did we answer your query effectively? Yes How satisfied were you today with the service you received from our Holiday Sales Expert? 3 How easy was it to get in touch with us today? 4 Based on your interaction with us today, how likely are you to recommend Parkdean Resorts to a friend or family member? Wouldn't Recommend If you would like to offer any additional feedback about your service experience, please tell us more here: Investigate

I would have loved too have done a review that wasn't like this, however;

We arrived earlier than 4, we didn't think our caravan would be ready but thought what was the harm in asking and it was apparently ready!! I think their definition of ready and mine are two very different things.

I was ready to give surfaces the once over and wash all the crockery etc but what I wasn't ready for was bird poo covering every window and while this didn't affect the inside, looking at white and brown splatters were not nice, there were no net curtains and I like a little privacy when I want to slob around and you definitely couldn't do that. The mirrors were filthy, the insides of the windows still had hand prints from I really hope the previous people and not last month, the stale stench was a bit over powering.

We also had three bedrooms and the "spare" one of the duvets looked like it has not been changed and was inside out, the other had a few yellow stains on. Now I work for a popular budget hotel chain and those sheets were NOT in the safe zone!

We had a Rother caravan, this wasn't a sun holiday, we paid the going rate and I could understand it being like this if they thought we got it cheap but seeing cigarette butts, fruit shoot bottles under the caravan and outside, was the last straw, I felt unclean and while I said, I was already going to give things a little clean I wasn't prepared to start deep cleaning. The kettle was also in need of a descale, something the lad did do but didn't tell us if it was safe to immediately use after (we boiled it several times after).

We managed to catch a staff member walking past and someone was over with a trolley within half an hour, nice young lad and while he did clean the bits we said was dirty and he did get the bloke with the power washer to come over and clean the outside of the windows, I think saying to us "we will clean it fully for you" would have been nicer.

It's also worth mentioning, the curtains are thin, there is no TV reception (which isn't a bad thing but you might want to sit and have something on in the background while chilling out (they know at reception its bad, there is a sign up). No plugs in either bathroom so couldn't really have a proper stand up wash, I also read to bring your own hair dryer, which I did but there was one plumbed into the drawer...shocking it didn't work. The oven sounded like it was fighting for it's life and the fridge freezer (while obviously quite new) whoever designed the cupboard door needs a lesson on carpentry, there was two doors and didn't match up to the fridge doors and while this wasn't a major issue, having them open at the same time just would have been nicer, you couldn't open the freezer door fully which means you couldn't use the freezer drawers fully

The park itself was clean, the shop was expensive but always is and I didn't think the prices in the bars were that much dearer than most places these days, whoever said there was no signal and the WiFi was poor, it might have been because we were close to the facilities but we were connected to the free WiFi and could watch videos etc.

Toilets in the females at least, in the show bar were disgusting, unclean, toilet seat falling off and just generally filthy

Would we use a parkdean again? Probably not to be honest, like I said I didn't feel clean the entire time and the musty smell was just niggling at me the whole time. Which is ashame as it's a nice park and staff are very friendly, apart from swimming today when we were treated to Oasis greatest hits at quite a loud volume, which was a little...
