Upon arrival to the hotel we were a little confused over parking as it isn't fantastically signposted. One thing if note were the parking spaces just for mercedes?! 😂

Check in desk was a pleasant experience and the overall entrance was light, airy, clean and for want of a better word "swish".

Directed to my room which was upstairs (I had a heavy suitcase and a bad back) I was not informed and still have not found any lifts in the building. No help to my room was offered. Funnily enough when booking I didn't think to say "I have a bad back please can I have ground floor accommodation" as I was expecting there to be a lift should I need one.

Edit I asked a member of staff if there was a lift in the building and she just said "in reception".

The hallways replicate scenes from the shining but as yet I've not encountered any girls in blue dresses or a small boy on a trike. So I think we're good.

On entering my room (tap key) it was very dark and I almost walked straight into the wardrobe that was located on the other side of the door. The room had some very outdated but functional pieces of equipment. It seems like the owners gave up on aesthetics and put in what they had left over from the meeting rooms.

Beds are very firm and bedding clean. Amenities in the room were good. Plenty of milk and coffee but the kettle hadnt been cleaned or emptied prior to me using it.

Toilet had a good strong flush which is always a bonus. Bathroom had two glasses and two small bars of soap as well as shampoo and body wash.

The decor was in need of some touch ups. The window frames were knackered and the carpets had stains. The price people pay per night I'd expect things like this to be kept on top of.

My view was of the front entrance/car park. I had to have the window open due to the heat and the noise level from outside was atrocious. Obviously there's nothing anyone can do about rowdy guests but it still impacted on my stay.

Unsure of what to do with ourselves for food, we ordered room service. Food was delicious actually. Quite large portions. However, they forgot one order completely. My friend had to walk to reception to find out where her supper was. She ordered two burgers (two people, not just for her!) The receptionist could see on the system she had ordered two burgers. The kitchen only received the information as one burger 🤷🏻 then our tray wasn't collected the day after so we ended up taking it back to the kitchen ourselves.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down. It states 7am-10am and we arrived at 9. Barely anything available. My mushroom still had soil on it and the amount of choice for scran was minimal. They did offer pastries, toast, some cereal and a hot breakfast. Also fruit and porridge. Egg choice was scrambled or what looked like fried but could of been poached. Coffee was rank. It was like Tesco value coffee in an earn. I couldn't even finish one cup with lots of sugar. Vile.

Day two of my stay was a Sunday. Checkout was at 10.30am. After a night at a wedding the day before I was looking forward to a lie in. At 1.30am the fire alarms started blaring and took a while to stop. Although this is obviously a safety measure and I'd rather be alive than look like pizza the hut, it was totally bypassed by staff on duty and in the morning after. No explanation etc.

Further to that. Housekeeping barged in my room at 9.15am. knocked once opened the door, turned all the lights on and shouted "HOUSEKEEPING!" Given that checkout wasn't supposed to be until 10.30 I was more than slightly annoyed.

My friend was also locked out of her room as the key is automatically set to not work after 10am. We had to find a member of staff to unlock the door for us.

Breakfast again was less than impressive - apart from the sausages..had a few of those! I completely bypassed the coffee. Wasn't making that mistake twice. I'm off to a Costa/McDonald's/Starbucks for an actual coffee.

The overall take on this hotel is

"A Travelodge trying to be a Hilton"

Won't be...

On October 7th and 8th, I visited the hotel to attend a training course organized by an external entity that is not affiliated with the hotel. As is customary in such events, a coffee and tea corner was provided for attendees, and we were informed of its location. We usually visited it during our short breaks, approximately every two hours.

During one of these visits, on October 8th between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, I encountered a lady wearing a red outfit — it appeared that she was working in event coordination or affiliated with an external service provider. She approached me in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner, questioning why I was at the coffee station and whether I was a hotel guest or had a reason to be there. I politely explained that I was part of the training group taking place at the hotel and mentioned the name of the organizing company. However, her tone and attitude were entirely inappropriate. I then respectfully asked if there were any instructions preventing us from using the coffee corner or if she needed any assistance, but she mumbled unclear words and left without further explanation.

During the incident, one of the event organizers was present — a relatively short young man, whose face reflected respect and good manners, with some grey hair visible — and he immediately offered a kind apology, trying to gently defuse the situation and express regret for her behavior. A few minutes later, he came to our training room to personally deliver another formal and courteous apology. This thoughtful and professional gesture left a very positive impression on me. He successfully managed the situation and reflected the high level of professionalism and courtesy demonstrated by the hotel staff.

In conclusion, I rated my overall experience at the hotel five stars, and it truly deserves even more — in recognition of the professionalism and kindness of the front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping staff, in addition to the fact that I stayed there for a night which was very comfortable. I also wish to commend the conduct of the course coordinators, especially the trainer, who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and integrity.

I am fully confident that the hotel management, known for its high standards and commitment to guest satisfaction, will take the appropriate action regarding the behavior of that lady, whose conduct does not reflect the esteemed standards of the hotel. I would also like to emphasize that this matter should be taken seriously, as I represent an organization seeking suitable and reputable venues for hosting future training programs for its employees. The incident caused me significant frustration and distress until the respectful staff member intervened and offered his apology in a professional and courteous manner, which demonstrated his integrity and...
