Looks like a nice place, and 1 star may seem unfair, but my review is solely based on the fact that we booked a place for our camper van with electric for one night. Planning on breaking up our journey from Glasgow to Yorkshire, and was looking forward to a few drinks and a nice meal. Unfortunately, although we had booked, no one had bothered to demarcate that that part of the car park, or at least one spot big enough for a camper should be blocked off, as we had also pre paid. They walked us up to the spot, our standard 15m electric hook up fell well short of the mark and the place was no good to us without it. All cars owners were at a wedding and with no solution offered by the staff, another member of staff took the walk up the car park as if it was magically going to make a difference. We enquired about a refund, which then cost us £3 to obtain, annoying, especially when the staff didn't seem bothered or interested at the inconvenience this caused us, late in the afternoon after a hard drive down from Scotland. Annoyed doesn't cut it. A heartfelt apology might have at least softened the blow. We were...

Friendly greeting from reception . Rooms to a great standard with and excellent bathroom in room 6 . All the staff were young , polite and professional . Room was a little warm during the nigh with thermostat down but minor issue . The real star here was the restaurant . The food was a set price for three courses and it was absolutely exquisite . I had the mackerel rillet was perfectly seasoned , and garnished with green pea leaves . Pork cheek was amazing ... so tender and again perfectly seasoned , followed by Sticky toffee pudding .. ( probably Cartmel - yum!) all a bargain at £23 ... told the chef was moving on next week :( but will return as a stop over when going to Newcastle in November. All the full English breakfast ingredients were top quality and the breakfast staff friendly and efficient . Highly recommended for a quiet break ( visit the...

We are snowbound in Brough, so we needed somewhere to stay, we saw The Inn and went to enquirer if there was any availability. We were greeted with friendly and warm staff. We were shown to our room which was very comfortable, and very clean. I had run out of my medication, a member of staff called Jill was so helpful and kind, nothing was a problem, Jill helped me to get my medication from the surgery in Kirkby Stephen. Jill is a gem, always so friendly with a smile on her face. My medication was delivered by a man in an army type vehicle, I'm so very grateful that people and staff in brough were so giving. We will highly recommend "The Inn". Thank you very much Salleigh Tremaine ...

The Castle Suite was just wonderful and really worth the extra money! Very spacious with a fabulous bathroom. On the top floor so views were good - at the back to the fells behind and at the front over Brough and towards the castle. Whilst the inn is on the main road, the room was quiet. A bath robe and a pair of slippers were provided (only 1 of each so 2 would have been nice for a couple; though I’m sure there must be a reason for this). There was also the perk of free chocolate and bottled water in the mini fridge! Full English Breakfast (included) was super - in particular tasty sausages and freshly brewed coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the bungalow (due to having 3 dogs with us). Stellar experience thanks to great staff catering to our requests. The room itself was good for the four of us being great value. Locally it is a very small town but placed in the middle of the dales and Lake District to explore. There is a bar/restaurant inside that are nice too. Breakfast is okay; nothing special. Our experience with dinner was subpar with bland/dry meals; however I didn’t want that to lower the star rating as the service was still wonderful and warm. Will consider staying again as was great value!

Had a lovely stay at this Inn and can't praise it enough. The rooms are beautiful and done to a high standard with all the amenities. I loved all the little extre treats in the fridge made my stay even better. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to wake up and go tuck into the included breakfast which was delicious. The staff were so friendly and helpful even helped with my bags. The only minor niggle is i wish the room was thoroughly cleaned seemed like it was cleaned in a rush. However, I would still definitely stay again.
