This a fantastic little cottage just a short 25 minute walk from the centre of Ruthin. However it feels like you really are in the middle of the countryside which is just what we wanted for a short relaxing break.
The cottage itself was very cosy, comfortable and clean and our 14 month old labrador was able to have the run of the secure garden. We were supposed to go out for a meal on our second evening but were enjoying relaxing in the garden so much we opted for a takeaway delivery. The garden feels lovely and secluded and having your own chiminea just made it even more tranquil. There is also a larger communal garden that has a couple of beautiful open huts that you can relax in with a glass of whatever you fancy!
The kitchen has everything you need and is very well equipped and the welsh cakes were a nice welcoming touch. Upstairs, again there is everything you need in the modern en suite and Tom and his family kept us informed at every point, check in and check out was a very pain free experience. What more can I say except we both agreed that we would definitely return to this...

The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean. It has everything you require, a little home from home.It has a small enclosed garden which was perfect for privacy and safe for our dog to relax. There are viewing huts with log burners if you enjoy outdoor dining under the stars. There is a field to the back of the cottage which our dog loved for his morning run. The owners provided milk, tea ,coffee and sugar along with a few welsh delicacyâs which were a lovely touch and thoughtful. The cottage is surrounded by numerous country lanes which are great to get out there and explore. It is a 5 minute drive into Ruthin or a 20 minute walk, where you can visit the Castle or enjoy the local bars ( outdoors at present) and amenities. We would thoroughly recommend Mill Cottages for a...
Read moreLovely little cottage. The Granary is ideal for two. With views that really make you appreciate what beauty we have in the UK itâs the ideal place to stay. Local shops including a huge Tesco only 5 minutes drive down the road Ruthinâs historical background just adds to the magic of the getaway. The hosts are superb, right there if you need them but never too imposing. If you need suggestions of places to go no better than to trust the locals. The accommodation was well equipped even allowing us to do a days work in comfort with high speed internet. The evenings fall and you can sit raised behind the accommodation by the fire and lights in a little hut, honestly itâs a great way to wind down. If you want a cute, great location, well equipped, dog friendly, peacefully quiet place for two in Denbighshire there isnât anywhere else to stay worthwhile for the money. Weâd love to come again, thank you for a...
