Five star Hayloft. Just had a four day midweek break staying in the Hayloft. It was an absolute luxury stay, everything was perfect from booking to leaving. A very generous welcome tray awaits my arrival, coffee pods for coffee machine, free range eggs, milk, crisps and fantastic selection of yummy biscuits. The furnishings are all of very high quality with the stylish mixture of old & new which suits the conversation really well. I booked directly with the owners as I had a few questions concerning my two dogs, the replies were very quick and informative. It was the most relaxing break I have had in years. Seaham beach is just a short drive away with plenty of parking and a fantastic Asda, I didn't sample any of the eating places as I had my two dogs with me, I stocked up on food and ate in. The kitchen equipment was like everything else first class. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay very close to the sights of Durham and it's surrounding areas you won't be...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusted with new owner and Host and Stay. Elderly family arrived at cottages which were cold, it transpires no heating, hot water etc on at accommodation. No working gas supply at property, and no sign of this being resolved over bank holiday weekend, despite insurance with on-line travel agent. 84 and 86 year old Aunt and Uncle could not stay due to cold, and had to stay with other family members, who’s guests (who were staying at theirs) had to then sleep on the floor. Was offered a full refund if all vacated on the Saturday, however no place to go. Due to other younger family members staying was only offered £170 refund of the £435 paid for 3 nights. The family members who stayed, only slept at property, and due to cold could not use facilities. Disgusted with offer, no thought given regarding circumstances, and no good will provided. Cottages are lovely however customer service absolute...
Read moreWe've just returned from a wonderful short break in the farmhouse . We've stayed in many gorgeous places but this just about tops them all. No expense has been spared creating these magical cottages , the attention to detail and sheer luxury is second to none . They really have thought of everything! We ate out at the Half moon pub who were very accommodating with regards to our two dogs and we also ordered take away. This has no bearing on the kitchen which is very well equipped with just about everything you could possibly need. We've already booked our second trip and look forward to exploring this very beautiful part of the country. Thank you...
