We stayed in cabin 233 purely for the view from the decking. We managed to get a week booked for the price most places were charging for a weekend. Staying during the hottest week in July 2021 the cabin was hot upon returning from hikes but quickly opening windows helped. The owners in the cabin next door were friendly on arrival but not intrusive and we didn’t see them the rest of the week; they were full of valuable tips of the local area. If you’re looking for tourist traps locally this isn’t the place for you but, if like us, you want walking and paddle boarding this is a perfect spot. There are some really great walks nearby and even despite the heat we managed to complete the longer route of The Precipice Walk (highly recommend) and the nearby forest waterfall walk (watch out for mountain bikers). The photos of our cabin did not do it justice; the kitchen had EVERYTHING you needed. The sun room at the front was perfect for breakfast with the cabin being very clean. My only gripes I think would be the two chairs in the lounge not being very comfortable, but after realising the sofa was a sofa bed we understood they needed to be easy to move, and the garden at the back needs some cutting back as I imagine by 2022 the lovely view will be blocked. The rear garden at present isn’t usuable but we managed to use the front for a BBQ. I’d suggest the photographs be updated on the website as the cabin is much more modern and well appointed than the photographs make it look. There were deckchairs provided and even though there being others on the site we didn’t see another person after check in day and noise was well masked by the trees. As with all dog friendly rentals I always worry about the smell but our cabin had no smell at all, obviously cleaned regularly. The terrace/decking is not overlooked and is perfect for sitting out until dark after a days hiking. At time of writing no inflatables or paddle boards are allowed on the nearby lake but the cafe is nice for a stop off. The reception on site is well stocked and reasonably priced with well stocked ice creams in hot days. We drove to black rock sands and Barmouth beaches but obviously like everywhere they were busy with staycationers. Despite this we managed to enjoy the beach. Highly recommend the river tubing at Llangollen and the Fforest coaster, discount codes are sent with your booking confirmation. There are lots of activities and ‘tourist’ events if you’re ok with a half hour drive with spectacular views. We would definitely book again and if you want a week of isolation or a week of being central for lots of hikes this is the...

This was by far a dream holiday for our little family. Myself, my husband, 12 year old, 16 year old and dog. The location was beautiful and very peaceful. The cabin was more then we could have expected. Although, the cleanliness wasn't 5 star (crumbs on table, wardrobe drawers were dirty, dead moths covering roller blinds) we were not put off by this. It was beautiful and cosy. The veranda was perfect. It went right around the cabin and had a gate so the dog was safe and living her best life. The views were unbelievable. To wake up every morning to be able to look over the mountains was heavenly and watch the sunset at night whilst we sat on our lighted doorstep was perfect. The park had a lovely playground which the kids adored (unfortunately, we didn't find it until day 2 but the children made up for the lost day). The dog was let off her lead for the first time in her life in the security of the provided dog area which was a delightful little over grown woodland again with the most amazing views. Our stay was for 3 nights so on night one we walked around the park because it is just a stunning place for a stroll. Day two we ventured 5 minutes down the road to do the Dolmelynllyn Estate walk which was absolutely beautiful. Part of the National Trust and it included everything - woodlands, waterfalls, ruins, sheep filled fields. Day three we ventured a bit further afield to Barmouth which was a 30 minute drive to the 1st National trust site of Dinas Oleu. On our travels we spotted so many more places to visit and will certainly be returning to explore more of this beautiful area. The park itself has a shop for necessities and a little cafe bar which i cant comment on because we did not use these. The staff were very friendly and stayed in contact leading up to our arrival. The only thing I wish we had whilst we were there was a map of the area other then that i would definitely recommend staying at Trawsfynydd...

I know it's a self-catering holiday, but the basic standard of the cabin - 355 in this case - is poor. The bumf says it caters for 8 people, but you can only seat 4 at the kitchen table. Total of six beds provided, the other two being a bed-settee in the sitting room which, when made up as a bed, takes up almost all the available space in the sitting room area. The bed settee was also difficult to set up. ||||Kitchen table (and the rest of the furniture, for that matter) looked like it was from the 1950s, and was so unstable that drinks got spilled at the slightest knock.||||Cooker top oven/grill door wouldn't close properly and no grill pan provided. Or at least, not one that fits the grill properly.||||Cookware incapable of providing for the 5 people in our group - never mind for 8 people. Random collection of pans, lids, etc. Two woks but no frying pan.||||No kitchen cleaning stuff was provided. Why on earth would anyone want, or be expected, to bring cleaning products on holiday with them?||||One - yes just one - loo roll was provided. No towels provided nor available - even at additional cost.||||Parking space for just one car. Two, if the second one is small enough to fit on the road in front without blocking other vehicles. Eight people in one car???||||I don't know if the room heaters work as we didn't need them (the faux electric wood burner did work just fine), but the fact that the main on/off switch on the wall for the sitting room heater was taped into place didn't inspire confidence.||||TV & Freesat worked fine and reception was good.||||South-facing veranda lovely when...

This is a great holiday park! The lodges are fantastic, there clean and tidy and have plenty of room for a family. There are board games in your lodge that you can play and you have a garden in the back to play some badminton. There is parking alongside the lodges if your staying. Make sure to look at the map if your going as there are lots of lodges and it may be difficult to find yours. The views are great, as you can see the forest and several fields. There are multiple species of animals from horses to badgers. The locations is great, so many things to do in the area, for example going to Harlech castle which also has amazing views when you get to the top. The staff are very friendly and are happy to help with any questions that you ask. The shop is quite big with food for the night and some snacks to. It is great to go on a walk at night around the lodges to try see some wildlife. The Internet can be bad at times when trying to watch the tv but apart from that it's a great holiday park to visit.

Nice and quiet place, beautiful views and about 20-30min drive towards many tourist destinations, with a lot of things to do and see around. We booked the cabin online, everything was well explained, no face to face contact with anyone. Would've been nice to explain where is our cabin located in the village prior to our arrival, luckily we got in time to ask at reception. Cabin was freezing cold, everything was turned completely off, luckily first night we have had electric heaters provided so we can start warming the cabin as they had 2 storage heater, which work great, if they are charged up, but unfortunately they've been turned off completely and first night they just charged up and started heating the cabin next day properly. Apart from that, location was perfect, cabin very good once everything was up and running, not been disturbed by anyone and anything. Totally recommend
