My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at this working farm B&B via www.Farm Stay .co.uk||||Sheila gave us a warm welcome with tea/coffee and cakes and both the bedroom and guest lounge were very comfortable.||||Breakfast is made to order each morning and was delicious and the location of the Farm was great for visiting either Manchester, Cheshire or Derbyshire. ||||We stayed for 4 nights and used the farm as a base - we visited Chatsworth House on the Tuesday, Chester on Wednesday and we cycled on the Tissington Trail on the Thursday.||||There are lots of animals on the farm including; goats, cows, sheep, ducks, hens and not forgetting the Farm cat and sheepdog.||||Sheila is a wonderful host and will tell you as much information about the Farm as you want.||||There are lots of good places to walk with plenty of guides to use.||||Would recommend for a cosy relaxing stay.||||Couple of minor points to note - the wifi signal can be a little weak - however we didn't really use it||The lounge and bedroom were a little cold when we arrived back from our days out - however there are oil filled radiators which can be plugged in.||||Finally we were lucky to have the place to ourselves for 2 of the 4 nights however another couple stayed for the other 2 nights and at breakfast there is just one table so we ate together - generally we prefer a nice quiet breakfast and would prefer a seperate table however it was fine and did not...
Read moreOats pancake with cheese, bacon and one egg fried, some brown toast with in house made gem and one big hot pot of coffee breakfast, Sheila “the boss” of the Yew Tree Farm, welcomed me every morning, after I woke up from a bed way more comfortable than mine at home( hated that) |After breakfast and many questions of mine about the farm and history of it and same number of answers from Sheila, we addressed the “elephant in the room” which was the highland cattle’s who were grazing the grass outside just under the Yew Tree Farm windows. She and Malcolm are so proud of them and in all the honesty why wouldn’t they be. No where else in Cheshire you can’t see them. So unic and beautiful that they even make the cover of the Cheshire Life magazine. I had the privilege to be taken by Malcolm in the buggy to see the cattle’s close while feeding them. That my friends was my beautiful idilic three days staying at one of the most genuine Cheshire farm with decades of history in raising cattle’s and not only. Thank you for making me feel again, what once was my childhood at my grandparents farm!...
