What a fantastic surprise turning late on a friday with my mum and 2 daughters for my 13 year olds birthday stay. As soon as we arrived we had the warmest welcome from a wonderful woman on the desk. Immediately made it fun for the kids making it personal for them. After checking in we then got walked up to our room and showed us in and made sure we had everything we needed. The Spa Bath with lights bubbles and music was a suprise but it made the girls night so much fun. Large beds and room, even though the pub is underneath we had no noise upstairs at all. Breakfast was impeccable and great quality ingredients. Would recommend very highly.

The hotel and the restaurant are separate business. £18.00 for a burger and chips. It should have been served on a saucer as it was so small. Appalling value for money. Do not believe the image on the website, this is what was served. So avoid the restaurant. We also booked so called Wellness room with a spa bath, the room was nice, but the Spa bath did not work. From reviews others have had the same issues. Summary great location, staff were friendly, avoid the restaurant, paying for facilities that do not work. I will update this review if the hotel respond to me.

Stayed for 1 night and can’t fault the Hurtwood. Room was spacious, clean and had a very comfy bed. Food at the pub restaurant was solid and the breakfast was a real highlight. Good value for money, recommended!

Firstly staff are just wonderful. Engaging informative and so helpful and chatty. |Breakfast area clean. Generous cups for your morning drink |Bedding and towels so clean and good quality. Good tea tray with mugs. Good sized room. Mostly lovely outlook. ||Cons - entrance is a bit unloved and doesn’t give the best first impression, weeds on ground and in planters and slippery decking, and rubbish lying around, patio area. ||bathroom very tired needing some remedial works. Cracked tiles on floor, part of sink tap missing, grubby and damaged shower screen seal. Smell of drains and very noisy fan. ||Windows dirty, windowsills dirty. chairs stained, pulled one of the chairs out from wall to watch tv more comfortably and the back fell backwards. Looks like the wall was keeping it in place. Three of the five ceiling lights bulbs not working. Layer of dust on dressing table and bedside tables. I know we are in the countryside and dust settles quickly but the lamp bases also dusty and when moved you could see dust-free circles where lamps had been sitting. Carpet on stairs very grubby ||Some kind of extractor pipe thing outside bedroom window rumbling away day and night. Could hear even with windows closed. Appreciate it’s a necessity but it’s a bit meh. ||Breakfast good portions but cold on arrival. Breakfast room also cold and only way out of building so people in and out. ||Pub attached nice friendly staff but kitchen closed at 1830 on Sunday. We’d been out all day and forgot. Got back around 18:40. No chance of any food and nowhere nearby to get any. Thankfully we had snacks with us but a bit disappointing. ||Car park very tight entrance and limited spaces. ||Overall nice hotel but expensive for what you got. Could be fabulous with a bit of...

Il start with the positive and then just mention some of my observations. Firstly ,the building looks nice from the exterior ,Eileen, was just wonderfully charming ,chatty and very helpful with information and making sure my transport was organised ,the food was fine which Il come back to in a second and the room was lovely but a bird cannot fly on one wing!!.In my opinion there needs to be a little more attention to staff dress code, while I'm not saying it should be formal, but something better than Tracksuits, jeans and T-shirts.Also the kitchen door in the breakfast room is left open when your having breakfast which I can see us for practical reasons, you can see cleaning apparatus and schedule boards just looks tatty. In my experience regarding the food ,I ordered steak on my first night which they had run out of, and on the following morning I wanted corn flakes which they had also run out off so it wasn't a good experience with regard to food.I did have salmon instead of the steak which was fine. Finally, room temperature milk with one's cereal for me is a turn off.Realisticly I should have given 3 stars but the staff were nice, and if the owners haven't much interest in creating a nice ,pleasant experience for their clients well there isn't a whole pile the staff can do with out positive reinforcement and showing of interest by the big bosses.Ive worked in the hospitality industry since 1985 so I'm not talking rubbish, and I'm still in the business. Finally, this isn't ment to be an exercise in demoralising a very nice bunch of people but an expression of exasperation about a product that could be so much better if there was a little more focus on the oaying...

Me and my husband stayed in this hotel unfortunately for only 2 days. The hotel was hidden away with a bike hire shop opposite for anyone that wants to go on the many bike trails they have. |From the moment we set foot in this lovely place we were welcomed straight away by a lovely gentleman and then the lady my husband spoke to the day before to book the room, I'm really sorry but didn't get her name , she remembered us straight away and was very kind enough to get in the milk I needed for breakfast. |She was a breath of fresh air very friendly, helpful and an all round lovely person.|She showed us to our room and we were not disappointed the room was beautiful cosy , warm with a lovely big bed and TV with coffee machine and kettle with everything you could need . The bathroom was lovely and the shower was good. |Had a great nights sleep lovely comfy bed and the breakfast in the morning was exceptional with plenty of choice and the young man that served us in the morning was also very helpful and friendly.|All the staff that work at this hotel are a credit to the place and we will definitely be going back when I'm the area.|Thank you so much so making our...
