Can’t fault this place for the money. Room and en-suite bathroom a bit dated, but spotlessly clean with fresh towels each day, tea/coffee making facilities and a small TV. We had Wi-fi available in our room but can’t say if that’s the same for all rooms.
Really good breakfast served between 8-9am and staff were courteous and friendly throughout. Not sure what the policy is on lock up time. We arrived back on the Saturday night close to 1am and they were clearing up in the bar so unlocked the door for us without issue.
We found this place really well positioned for our various day trips etc. It’s actually quite central if you aren’t just focused on Portrush and want to explore further afield, though Portrush is only a 15-20 minute drive away anyway.
Only downside would be for adults in families with young kids, if the adults want a drink, as there’s only a bar and no food other than breakfast served, so no family area, but that’s a minor gripe I guess. A taxi from/to Bushmills should only be around £4. The Causeway Tavern is around...
Read moreIt was a bank holiday weekend and there was a fair near by so for the price we paid the accomodation was reasonable. We asked for a double and ended with a twin. The rooms are small (by Australian standards anyway) but very clean. We did a small rearrangement to fit our two large suitcases. It left is with a small walk way to get around the beds. The downside of this place was the push button taps that gave you a few seconds to wash your hands (think public bathrooms style) and it was a very hot and stuffy room even with the window open. The highlights were the entertaining hosts, offering to share their fish and chips and fresh fruit, the unexpected find of our favourite whiskey behind the bar and how hard this family work together to accommodate tourists. We wished we could give a higher score but there is some improvement needed which I’m sure the hosts are aware of and tried to make up for with their...
Read moreMy friend Julie and I "called" in there while looking for accommodation last August (2017) we got a room 2nd to last one. It was great the room was good, the bed very comfortable, tea making facilities in the room, great shower. We went out for dinner to the Smugglers Arms back along the road fantastic. Back to the B&B had a couple of drinks and chat with other guests and the one of the owners. Next morning OMG the cooked breakfast was amazing, fit for a Queen or King, came away not needing food for about 6 hours (normally have 2 slices of toast) then next morning decided to have the "other" option, cereal, toast and the largest plate of fruit came out as well. It was so good if I ever get back to Ireland again I would go and stay a week there as you can easily do all NI from there it is very central. Very close also if you want to go check out...
