Bad host and inaccurate listing.||I found the description of the property and policies inaccurate. This is a semi-detach not a cottage. It was listed as pet-friendly with no other policies. When I arrived, the owner has a long list of rules including not leaving pets alone. The owner also says you will be billed for excessive energy use. What is excessive energy use and how is it measured? There was a long list of prices for damaged items as well. Had I know this in advance I would not have stayed. It was very off-putting to be confronted with a long list of rules that were not disclosed at the time of booking.||The unit is furnished in from charity shops with mismatch furniture, cracked mirrors and plastic flowers. The farm where it is located is going to rot. Abandon cars and trash everywhere.||The host did not greet me (she was not in town) but hassled me during my stay about the dogs.||The overall experience was just sad. It was like the dirt poor farmer experience.||I mention to the host that it was unfair to impose a bunch of rules on arrival that were not disclosed at the time of booking. She did not care or apologize. She is all about the money. She offered 50 pounds back to remove a review which just shows that it is just about money and not the guest experience. ||I frequently stay in self-catering accommodations and this was by...
Read moreMyself and my family booked both cottages for a number of days over the Halloween holidays. We had stayed in one of the cottages previously and had a great experience, so were lookign forward to returning. We were so touched at all the extra effort Roisin had went to for the holidays- pumkins at the front doors and both houses decorated for Halloween and sweets left out for the children as well as some essentials for ourselves. The cottages are idyllic for a family getaway, as they are well off the main road, meaning the children can roam freely and the turf fire makes the nights very cosy. The cottages are a 5 minute drive to Ballycastle in one direction and Ballintoy the other way. They are very handy for visiting the rope bridge, the giant's causeway, bushmills, etc. We loved our stay and will be back as soon...
Read moreHad a lovely two night stay in 'stone chat' cottage. When we arrived everything was set up beautifully for our arrival, the house was warm, equipment for a turf fire was left as well as the ingredients for tea and cake. The cottage was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with a magnificent view of the surrounding area. There were leaflets on things to do in Ballycastle, as well as two large flatscreen TVs with freeview for entertainment. The cottage also had its own wifi connection which was very fast. The area outside the cottage was also of interest, as it has a famine graveyard and is home to many animals (including a very friendly goat). There is room for parking onsite, and the cottages are a 2 minute drive from the town of Ballycastle. All in all a wonderful idyllic place to stay, we will...
