All in all very good. We camped with 3 young kids and made lots of use of the indoor and outdoor pools, though you couldn't stay long on the outdoor pool because it was too cold. The on site shop is well stocked, selling essentials including milk, eggs, meat, bread, firelighters, bbq's kids toys, cold beer, cider, wine, it's not overpriced. There are 2 pool tables costing 50p per game, table tennis, some kids play equipment. The pitch had power and shared fresh water taps were nearby. The earth was a bit soft right in the wrong place for the wind, but a pole from a wind break fixed that, the pitch was a little lumpy as well, but not too bad.. The site felt safe and secure. There are special areas for dog walking which was good. The toilets, washing showers and washing up facilities are all excellent, properly cleaned every day, and plenty for the site, wet never had to wait. The washing up is inside which is nice, and there is piped local radio! The village the site is in is very small with no shops, however, there is lots close at hand, Yarmouth, Compton bay (fossils), fort Augustus, some national trust places, a watermill set up for kids with a nice restaurant and crazy golf with a return as often as you like ticket was good value. Newport is 15 mins away, Shanklin is 30 mins. There is a great pub less than 5 minutes drive with discount for Orchards residents, lots lots more. Other than or soft, slightly lumpy pitch, only downside for us was that the kids couldn't use scooters or bikes on the site (probably good for everyone else though!). All in all a great holiday destination, kids said it's their favourite so far, which is the important thing.

Very disappointing. We've stayed at The Orchards about 6 times and every year it's being getting more and more expensive.... This year we could only afford a 'Discovery' caravan and judging by all the other holidays we've had there we thought it wouldn't matter......we was wrong. We paid £630 for 4 nights and the caravan we was put in was in a complete state. It was dirty with cobwebs and stains all over the carpets. The cupboard doors in the kids bedrooms were all hanging off. The cooker had visible rust on the outside and we was given a lighter to use it as it didn't work properly. The fridge also never worked properly and had to be turned up to the max (7) to get things slightly cold. The DVD player didn't work.....the TV was the size of a postage stamp and the controller had no back cover so the batteries would constantly fall out. The general condition of the caravan was terrible and at just over £150 a night I would expect something at least half decent. When I took it up with reception, the lady went straight on the defensive and just said they realize that these caravans are on their last legs. No apologies or offer of some kind of compensation..... To top it off, on the first night the electric cut out and so we called the out of hours emergency number to be greeted with eastern Europeans who sounded put out that they had to be called out to help us.....very unpleasant....tried to make light conversation with the man but he completely ignored me. Oh...and when we was there, the takeaway on site had to be closed with immediate effect which is also quite alarming Won't be going back

Been camping here for nearly a week, clean site, very friendly staff. The family has been using the 2x pools and said both we're warm. Plenty of toilets, showers with a large washing up area overlooking the fields. Laundrette and shop on site, the shop is only operating at limited times but technically I'm here off season. The takeaway is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (at the moment) but may open more in full season. Dedicated dog area with short walks to the left and right... end up on main roads so didn't go further. There's a ping pong room, pool table and grab machines on site. I'm here out of season, but when you look around there is quite a lot of cars here... but it doesn't feel busy or crowded. I dont know what its like in season. Only negatives..... shop doesn't sell some of the necessities, milk, fruit, but again it may be due to being off season. The nearest pub is 1.3m away.... not far but I wouldn't walk there as the main road doesn't really have any pathway so we thought too dangerous to do with children. On Sunday morning (3am) we was waken by the sound of bass..... after looking around the campsite we decided it wasn't anyone on the site...... after looking at things to do I spotted Robyn Hill has raves on Saturday night.... could this have been the cause of the sound ? We'll never know but it was 1x night and if it was im sure all the campsites in this area would be affected. As I'm sitting here now its completely peaceful with just the sound of the birds.

There is pros and cons staying at the orchards.|Start with the pros, not many unfortunately. When I booked, the service for booking the ferry was excellent had a good price for the ferry.|Had a telephone call when we were just about to board the ferry saying the caravan was ready which was good.|We went with family and they were in the next caravan we didn’t have to ask.|The grass area outside the caravan was very good for the children to play.|My husband and daughter have mobility issues and not being able to park the car by the caravan became a big issue for them both (I don’t drive). When I approached the reception ladies they advised me that we could have booked an accessible caravan which we didn’t know. They did give us access with a pass for the car to be parked by the caravan, but it was certainly seem a chore to them to issuing one which we very much appreciated. So if you have mobility issues you need to take this in account.|The cons, well the caravan itself was ok, booking with hoseasons we was expecting a lot better, we always book with them and never had a caravan which was very very basic. Lacking in kitchen items there is a list in the welcome folder with an inventory of all items in the van never I have ever seen one of these! The toilet paper, two rolls so thin it wasn’t worth using it, had to go and buy more. Only one pillow each for three of us but luckily we paid for a six berth so we had the extra pillows even though they had no pillowcases on. |The WiFi was terrible, reading the replies on trip advisor on other people’s reviews it seems an issue which no one seems to want to sort! It’s ok them saying they don’t advertise smart tvs etc but everyone knows knows the UK weather and if you have poor day then unfortunately in today’s living, streaming is a major part of life (not for me I’d rather be outside) but when you have teenagers with you it is! Or if you work from home or just want information about the island it was the worse I’ve ever had in today’s standards, please put on your description for the site the the wifi is very hit and miss! The phone signal is also poor we have got three phones all of us on different networks and not one was consistent with a signal. |We had a cupboard door hanging off in the bedroom.|Unfortunately we won’t be staying again, it is the very very low end of the hoseasons brand we are just use to having towels, welcoming packs, good furniture, ample utensils in the kitchen, quality toilet paper and good wifi parking by your lodge/caravan.|I’m sure the lady who answers all these reviews on trip advisor will have an answer to everything I’ve raised!!!! Because she does on everyone’s review! Lol. |We had extremely good weather the week we was there and we love the Isle of Wight we certainly be back to visit but to a...

We are a family of 5, we live on the Isle of Wight and we go camping at least once a summer. We always return to The Orchards Holiday park as it’s the kids favourite and ours too.||We love the outdoor and indoor pools, the table tennis, pool tables, shop and take away. ||We always requests Sundance 40 as it has the best view of the sunset from the outside dining area. |I’ve always found the caravan to be immaculate and really well equipped. We are always out all day and find the comfort of the caravan very welcoming after a busy day. ||The location is lovely, rural yet close to our favorite beach’s and Tapnell farm park is less than 10 minutes away. ||The grounds within the holiday park are well cared for and we always see grounds people trimming hedges and cutting grass.||Theres a real sense of security here and this year I was able to let the children out of sight for short periods of time which I haven’t been able to do at home yet because there’s very little traffic coming and going and everyone has always been very respectful of children being around. ||The on site shop is amazingly well stocked with some very good quality local produce, toys and souvenirs. ||We ate from the take away one night which was really tasty, the other nights I enjoyed cooking in the caravan kitchen. I brought a blender and made amazing pina colads which we drank on the decked area watching the golden glow of the evening sun and all the children playing football with other families. We joined in too, it’s all part of summer holidays for us. ||I love the benches in the indoor pool. We often just sit here and have a milk shake and usually end up jumping back in the water for another swim. You can also get cold beers/ hot drinks/ice creams here! ||We love the Orchards and many of our family and friends have stayed here and since returned and almost all of my school mum friends stay here at some stage of the summer holidays. ||Thanks for another great week and see you again in...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here at this small park – I would give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. We just used it as a hub to visit the Island. We would leave around 9 ish and come back around 5/7 ish. In general, I think the park is just missing something extra - like an entertainment schedule or a small socializing area… However, I would recommend to stay here.

Good: Nice location. Caravan was excellent condition and very clean. I also observed their cleaning staff who were very thorough cleaning out caravans ready for next guest. Very Quiet. Very small park for the kids to play on. We stayed in the Roxbury (£950) for 7 nights. The views from the Caravan were really good and positioned on a hill so you keep see the coast line from a far. The park has two swimming pools one outside and one indoors. They’re both heated Small shop which sells small items at reasonable prices. There is a small lodge to play pool. (two tables) Didn’t get a chance to see the condition of the pool tables. Pool attendants were nice and friendly.

Bad: (Perhaps I'm being too picky...) Checking in we had to wait. Two people at the desk, one serving a customer and the other just sitting at the desk listening to the phone ring… Personally, I would get the customer in and out as quick as possible and then admin tasks can be done thereafter… (maybe that’s just me….) ‘Apple-Tree’ restaurant we ate here once. It’s their restaurant on the park – didn’t really rate the food and the pizza was awful. (Dough was fresh) We ended up eating out or eating in. The COVID protocols for the swimming pool were a bit extreme. You had to book a day in advance to get a slot. They had a small ‘ping-pong’ table you could use. The table was poor and the bats were like a...
