We found this air BNB on buy a gift after receiving a 2 day break voucher for my birthday. We had to upgrade to have this hotel (additional £59) bringing the total to £159 once this room was booked (actually price of £99 which was annoying but wasn't the owners fault). On buy a gift it stated that each room had a toilet and we would be on the top floor. Once I received booking confirmation we were actually on the ground floor and sharing a toilet/bath which I could deal with however when we arrived the bathroom is in the kitchen so didn't really like using it. There was a toilet upstairs for guests to use also but everyone came downstairs causing backlogs and the toilet didn't flush properly because of it. The rooms are very small and incredibly hot. The bed itself was very small and my OH is over 6 foot so wasn't brilliant for him and we couldn't be near eachother all night because of the heat. Other occupants weren't very considerate of how thin the walls are. Lots of arguments, banging our door etc. No extractor fan so all the heat/smell from the kitchen was coming in to the rooms. Other couples were cooking and leaving food/washing up everywhere. Felt very uncomfortable going to use the bathroom 1) because it's in the kitchen 2) you feel like your walking through someone's home with washing and food everywhere. We tried watching the TV to cover the noise of the other guests but the WiFi wasn't working so no luck there. We tried one night but unfortunately gave up and went to a chain hotel down the road. This is okay for single travelers I'd say, but definitely shouldn't be on buy a gift as a hotel experience for couples as it definitely isn't a hotel. No staff available either all done via text. Parking is a 5-10 minute walk away so travel light, not fun lugging it down the road. Due to the small size of the room it was also very hard to move about/not get in each other's way...
Read moreNobody to greet you, check you in, shared bathroom ( 1 floor above my room) no double glazing, condensation on windows once it gets cold outside, my room booking states “ king size double “ it’s actually 2 singles put together!|Same code gets you in the front door, your bedroom & the shared bathroom/ toilet ( makes you wonder if all rooms have same code ( security????) Tuesday wanted my room serviced, left out the sign provided, wasn’t serviced at all! Take it it was either ignored, forgotten or just no staff that day?! Parking is not practical if yo are staying away for more than 1 day & need a big bag (4 nights worth of work wear I needed) as parking is restricted on majority of close roads & car park is 3-4 minutes away!! |Not my cup of tea I’m afraid….. good job my company paid & not me ( I’d ask for some kind of refund especially on bed, if you slept on 2 singles pushed together you’ll understand how uncomfortable...
Read moreWe booked an overnight stay to be near the hospital for visiting. On arrival we struggled with keyless entry at first and the stairs were very steep and narrow up to 1st floor . A shared bathroom was next-door to our room and unfortunately the smell coming from there was absolutely disgusting, luckily it was not in our room. The room was very hot and very noisy from traffic if windows were opened , so grateful for the fan .We had tea and coffee making facilities and the usual things you would expect however one bedside lamp did not work and the towels did not smell fresh or clean .The bed was uncomfortable ,duvet covers were not ironed and on waking we pulled duvet back to air the bed and realised we had slept on dirty sheets that were stained ||It was an awful experience I did not feel refreshed as I should have , we will not use Bricksage again and I definitely would not recommend anyone else to...
